[vpFREE] XXXVP--slot game question

Last week, I found myself at the Sandia Casino in Albuquerque with some time
to kill.  VP there wasn't much so I wandered around looking for something
'interesting' and found a very busy bank of 10 machines called Pharaoh's Wish.
There were several games, not all machines were the same.  Each had one of
the major and minor jackpots. I actually had some pretty good luck on a couple
of these--and am wondering if anyone has seen/heard of them anywhere in Vegas?

Thanks in advance,
Caroline

I posted a Hard Rock LV inventory update here two days ago that you replied to. The database was updated later that day. Don't know if HR has made any other changes since then.

BTW Anyone can see when the last updates to a casino in vpFREE2.com were made by clicking on "Comments" for that casino, although there may be minor changes that don't get listed in the Comments sections.

I verified with the Sahara slot club today that there is now no daily limit to how many comps you can redeem for free play. The rate is still $2 in comps equals $1 free play.

I also looked at the video poker inventory. Best I saw was 25c/50c/$1 9/7 DB. Will report what I found to vpFREE2.

Has anyone updated the database? Is there anything left playable? I return to Vegas April 9th and can verify then. I'm very concerned that the new management has torched everything playable.

Subject: [vpFREE] Which casino cancelled players accounts?

I read the recent Jean Scott blog article on how one casino outright cancelled some players accounts without informing them. They were cancelled due to advantage VP play.

I had not read about this before. Does anyone know the which casino did this?

[vpFREE] Re: Which casino cancelled players accounts?

Southpoint deleted a lot of accounts a year or so back. If you wanted to retrieve your points/cashback you had to go to the Booth and hear a speech from the supervisor about how you aren't allowed be a players club member anymore or participate in any promotions. However I dont think they actually 86d anyone. Just disabled your players club card.

[vpFREE] Re: Math Help Needed

I don't follow what you're doing but the Kelly Bankroll (Poundstone's "Fortune's Formula") can be calculated for any option by summing up this formula (the natural log of bankroll growth) for all possible results:

prob x ln((BR+Win-1)/BR)

then iteratively solving for the value of BR (Bankroll) that results in the largest sum (maximum bankroll growth). Your bankroll can be larger than this value (less growth but less risk) but should never be less (less growth and more risk).

Alternately you can use Jazbo's perl script which does the same thing:

http://www.jazbo.com/poker/kellyp.html

Or the approximation for Kelly Bankroll:

variance/edge

Another approximation is the Certainty Equivalence:

EV - Variance/(2x BR)

Every option has a Certainty Equivalence, the option with the highest value is the best for bankroll growth. Note that if you have an infinite bankroll (too big to fail) the formula reduces to EV (Expected Value), or maxEV (Bob Dancer) strategy.
