Good god, Bob buddy. No one, myself included, ever said that the
Fiestas aren't good BY COMPARISON WITH WHAT'S LEFT. A dozen or
so "Optimums" with $40 billion coin-in to earn a comped buffet IS
better than most of what's out there now.
It also is horribly pathetic compared to what Fiesta/Reserve USED to
be like before Stations got their hands on those properties.
I don't really CARE what the VP is like in the rest of the country.
I don't think it's RELEVANT what might happen if Westin Causarina
ran the joint. All I know is, Fiesta (Rancho) and the Reserve used
to have so many terrific plays, it was hard to choose between them.
Comps used to be over 0.5%. There were point multipliers. Bounceback
cash. Great promos. A skilled quarter player could do very well.
Now, the VP is 99% crap, and the slot club is a joke. In fact, the
whole mess is far worse than it was even a couple of years ago. So
what if there's an occasional $500 NSUD play that can earn a theo of
+$30/hour if you risk $35,000,000 coin-in? So what if someone can
grind out $7/hr + no comps on .25 FPDW--assuming you can elbow aside
one of the chainsmoking locals who are there twelve hours a day?
I DON'T want "MORE", Bob...I just want back SOME of what there USED
to be. I'm tired of seeing LESS and LESS. The stinkin' casinos made
beaucoup bucks offering fullpay games and decent slot clubs, even if
a few hundred people DID manage to beat them out of 0.000000000001
percent of their profits. There's no reason, except stupid,
shortsighted greed, for them to tighten everything up to the point
where it squeaks.
