On average, the progressive will hit in 1 cycle, so, in your example,
payback would average 100%. But that's normally irrelevant. Your
main concern, normally, should be what value your next hand will have,
independently of meter movement.

Thanks for all your comments on this!  It has really given me a lot to think about as well as developing new strategies for play.   

One other semi-related question on the subject of progressives.  Does meter speed factor into EV, or is it simply "what value is the progressive at right now as I start to play"?  Say there is some game that costs $5 per hand, has exactly a 99% return at the start of the progressive, and the meter rises by 1% (so +$0.05 per hand).  What could we say about the EV of this machine over the long term due to the meter speed?

Posted a reply in this new yahoogroups format that can't get used to; pushed the wrong button and deleted; so summarizing my reply but will probably show up in daily digests. 

We also have moved on but remember the glory days that ended around 2005 after they became a megalith and then start of the disappearing fair bets around 2011 after they went private acquiring $20,000,000,000 in debt. 20 x 10(9th) -Billion with a B.

Truly it was "Hail Caesars" for about 10 years. Then 5 years of fair bets. Now all gone and we have also gone to places "where we get offers and are treated better." No more upgrades to first class on nonstop flights as frequent flyers; limo ride from airport; suites, banquets and tourneys.

All we are looking for now is a fair bet.

Us too.
There were 2 waves of departures, as i remember. Soon after 01/2005, when Harrah's became a megalith; and soon after 01/2010 when they went private acquiring $20 billion in debt.

Ten years ago, the offers were very attractive and the gambling was most excellent.  AP's of >101%. We flew from Boston on America West so much ended up getting gold card; flew non-stop, first-class. Nice rooms and meals including banquets. Tournaments worth $300 each.  Almost ten years of attractive plays.

Almost five years ago, after they went private, the fair bets went away. 7*s not the man it used to be as a kicker.

Distant memories playing FP multistrike just outside the silhouette bar near the caesars sportsbook.

All we want nowadays is a fair bet with a decent room and food. We'll find our way from the airport after stopping to switch planes at o'hare.

[vpFREE] Advice on 7* annual dinner and Free monthly Tickets (Any Caesar owned Vegas Property)

 

I'm looking for some advice & ideas for 7* annual dinner and monthly shows.  We will be staying at Paris. But certainly open to walking to another property.

Any ideas on the best restaurant for a family of 5 adults with a 7 year old grandson for the $500 dinner?

Thinking of using either the Eiffel Tower or High Roller monthly tickets, but would not use them myself, but pass them on to family members.  Can the 7* cardholder get the passes and let family use them?

I appreciate any advice,  thank you!

Harrah's was the king.  Reminds me of a guy who owns bar for years.
