I judge things in exactly the same way as below ... except you'll never know if new cases are related to casino visits, travel, or to other aspects of re-opening both in casino venues as well as in other states... With so many changes in so many places and with so many states relaxing restrictions, and with many states having rising numbers that never stopped going up to begin with, it will be tough to decide whether any specific measures or exposures are responsible, as distinguished from data changes that might have been seen without that specific factor.
Only if there's widespread decreases in new cases would I consider the data to be helpful to concluding that COVID is on the downswing.
We're also in our 70s and are beginning to go to stores but we also aren't yet ready for airplanes, hotels, or mass transit.

I will be curious to see how the numbers for the corona virus count changes as the casino open up. One thing to keep in mind if a tourist gets the virus In Vegas and has returned home the count will be for that persons state not Nevada.
My husband and I are in our 70s and visit Vegas four times a year. This might be the first time we are shut out in over twenty years. We have been sheltering for the entire time with everything being delivered to the house. ( and I mean everything thanks to Walmart insta cart, Amazon etc.) The thought of getting on a plane and wearing a mask for eight hours does not sit well with us. Then you have to get on a crowded tram to go to the terminal to get your luggage along with everyone else from the plane. Then you end up in a line for the bus for the rental place - which means sitting on a crowded bus with everyone.
We are going to do a wait and see for Vegas.... Too many situations where social distancing is difficult .
