[vpFREE] Re: Jean Scott's Frugal Vegas LVA BLOG - 8 JUL 2014

A freeplay giveaway to people who don't even gamble, who don't even step foot in your casino? That's got to be an inside job, the shareholders and the state should investigate.

RTC launches visitor transit site RideTheStrip.com

New website serves as an online resource on transit services in the Resort Corridor

LAS VEGAS – The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has launchedRideTheStrip.com, a website geared specifically to tourists visiting or planning to travel to Las Vegas. The easy-to-use site provides a one-stop online resource for accessing information on the RTC's transit routes along the popular Las Vegas Strip and transit services to and from McCarran International Airport and the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Later this summer, RideTheStrip.com will promote a new RTC transit app that will allow customers using the Strip & Downtown Express (SDX) and Deuce on the Strip routes to buy and use RTC Strip and All-Access transit passes directly from their smartphones. The RTC will pilot test this mobile-ticketing app to further improve transit services within the Resort Corridor, making transit more accessible, attractive and even easier to use.

A popular tourist attraction for its double deck views of the Las Vegas Strip, the Deuce on the Strip makes frequent stops along the Resort Corridor, minimizing walking distances. Carrying more than 28,000 passengers each weekday, it travels between the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in the south and downtown Las Vegas at Fremont Street in the north.

The SDX offers riders an express transit option along Las Vegas Boulevard to the Las Vegas Convention Center and downtown Las Vegas. It operates from the South Strip Transfer Terminal, a popular park and ride location which also services McCarran International Airport, and includes stops at other popular Las Vegas destinations such as TaylorMade Golf Experience and Town Square Las Vegas. It carries more than 16,000 passengers each weekday.

For visitors, the RTC offers a three-day transit pass for $20, which provides unlimited travel to attractions, shopping malls, shows and restaurants.

The RTC is the transit authority, transportation planning organization and regional traffic management agency for Southern Nevada. The RTC's vision is to provide a safe, convenient and effective regional transportation system that enhances mobility and air quality for citizens and visitors. The RTC encourages residents and visitors to use a variety of transportation choices to help reduce traffic congestion, clean the air and improve the quality of life in Southern Nevada. [vpFREE] Re: Too many royals/handpays/W-2Gs?

There's only limited anecdotal evidence that you can be "no mailed" for hitting too many RF's.  It tends not to be a factor at the majority of properties.

I would only be concerned if you're playing a property where people have specifically noted a problem (e.g. Atlantis in Reno).  And, if you're a $.25 player and not generating w-2g paperwork, it's almost a certainty you're not at risk.

So if you hit 4 aces for $403.85 or if you hit a royal on a 5c 20-coin machine which would be $800 (which they also set to hand-pay). Here I'm talking about places like Longhorn, Joker's Wild, or Club Fortune. Do you think these places even care about things like that?

I don't think it matters whether the jackpots involve w-2gs. I think
they look at overall net result. At some places that no-mail many
people, I've been treated like a king in spite of hitting many taxable
jackpots because my net result is poor.
