Thanks Bob. I got the show in my typical proactive style. I stayed at home and waited for the phone to ring.
As you might expect I'm going for entertainment value over hard core information. It's not going to be Gambling with an Edge, but hopefully we'll make a lot of people laugh.

Re: [vpFREE] Nola Partner hotels
Not positive but I don't think the W is on their list anymore. Actually neither is Loews unless there is a special arrangement. At least they didn't offer it last time I checked.

We liked Lowes which is next door to Harrahs and easy walk over to New Orleans Harrahs and the underground walkway, or cross street. Very good restaurant in it as well. The W is also very close, quick walk across the street to Harrahs. You should be safe on any of these or close partner hotels. I've done it late at night too, but obviously look before you walk and know where you are walking.
Also watch out for fast moving cars on the streets, they seem to move pretty fast for a center city.

[vpFREE] Interesting show at Palms
Today I saw an interesting show at the Palms, the Alex Christopher show. Unfortunately it seems to be scheduled only once a month, next one is Feb 16 at 3 p.m. Christopher is very good singer, only 18 years old, in style of Sinatra or similar, with excellent three piece back up band. Piantist was Jimi Hendrix's. Price may be free or $15. Today his brother was putting in people for free (obviously drinks extra).
I was surprised to find a good singer like this at the Palms, which constantly has the worst of pop/rap music playing over the loudspeakers. A friend recently told me he won't play there due to bad music. I've sometimes used my IPod while playing there, but lately my mind seems to go to VP tune out to blank out the horrible music.
So if you like good Sinatra style music, mark your calendar.
His website is www.alexchristopherLV.com...with some YouTube links.

Mayhorn and Robertson have answered more than adequately. FWIW, I used to report each W-2G separately. However, the last two years I've reported one summary W-2G for each casino.
[vpFREE] OpVP free update
A free update to version 3.1 has been sent by e-mail to all registered
users of OpVP 3. A few came back as undeliverable.
This update fixes several bugs and improves performance on some features.
If you purchased OpVP 3 and did not receive the update, it is due to one
of the following reasons:
* Your ISP or your system rejected it due to too big an attachment.
* Your ISP or your e-mail program rejected it as spam or a virus.
* You changed your e-mail address and did not notify me, or
* You bought it from a third party retailer and didn't register it.
There is nothing I can do at my end. Please let me know when the problem
has been resolved, and I'll resend it.

I'm sorry I ever got involved in those confrontations with Rob. The truth is Rob was actually civil to me before that--I started the whole thing with a drunken post one night, for which I apologize to Rob. I have my way of doing things and he has his but there is nothing wrong with that. He's probably a pretty good guy. And I've just never been able to hold grudges.

Of all the suggested titles, "Professional Gambling: Winning despite your brain!" is perhaps closest to my message and the reality that would-be gamblers face.
The more books I read about human cognition the more amazed I am that anyone overcomes our natural deficits and steers a clear path to the truth.
Scientific studies into human perception of randomness puts our error rate at between 80%-90%, and well below the ability of birds and rats in similar tasks where intelligence and pattern recognition hurt rather than help.
"Despite your Brain" is pretty close to the way it is...
Not sure I can use this for the show title, but thanks for the idea. I'll at least use it as an article title.

You figured that out?
Kiss your career as a Harrah's exec goodbye.
Appears they haven't.

RE: [vpFREE] Re: re Harrahs New Orleans
The best palce we have stayed other than the Harrah's Hotel is the Wiindsor Court - suites are really nice. Casino is across the street.
We have stayed at Loews and it is also very nice - accross from the Casino.
Only problem at Harrah'd was close to Christmas when we were on the Fulton side of the hotel and Christmas music was playing all night.

Re: [vpFREE] New Radio Show (Need Name?)
The title should compliment what the show will focus on. Will it be similar to the other show that's really all over the map now, or are you targeting something specific and sticking with it?
Either way, once you choose a name, I have a few ideas on how to build your audience to levels deserving of what you have to offer.
