[vpFREE] update on Caesars benefit changes -- ..and more CONFUSION

 

So I went out to the Rio and when I got back I got an email that I CAN do
Cincinnati 7 Star "retreat" trip -- but my husband can't use his 80,000
point Aspiration trip to go there (we were going to do both and I would take a
friend).

What?

Now I am totally confused. Apparently the new rules say casinos that
don't own their own hotel "MAY not offer the retreat benefit" - meaning, I
guess, they May or May not -- or might at a later date not -- or something!

At the Rio I got a new 2015 benefit booklet which talks about the 40,000
tier credit Aspiration Level 1 (4 nights and a $100 folio credit, also 5000
tier credits toward your 2016 tier score, 4 tickets for the HiRoller ride,
$50 for use on CaesarsCasino.com in New Jersey -- isnt that for NJ
residents?). And the 80000 Tier credit Aspiration Level 2 ($750 airfare, 4
nights, Companion Card for a friend, another 5000 Tier credits toward 2016 score,
4 happy half hour tickets for the High Roller). Aspiration Levels are
based on your 2015 TIER SCORE, and offers can be enjoyed through June 30.

It doesn't say word boo about MAY (or may not) be taken at certain
properties.

Since I am not a DIAMOND member I can't look up diamond detailed rules
online. Can anyone find them to post?

When I was at the Rio I spoke to a host there (who also thought MAY not
meant -- no you can't use it... confusion in the ranks once again). I
discussed the new Seven Star Experience credits, which now start at 250,000
points instead of 200,000 points, and the 2nd requires 500,000 points.

She said various new bonus credits will make the new 250,000 actually the
same as the old 200,000 level. (Talk about confusion!). Apparently she is
including the 50% "up to 25,000" credits you get for doing "up to 50000
tier points from Jan 1 2015 to March 31. So someone who reaches 150,000
tier points by March 31 gets an extra 25000 points, so they are now at 175000
points.

I assume you actually have to take the Aspiration 1 and Aspiration 2
benefits to get the new bonuses that are mentioned in the booklet I got. (but
who knows!) That would be another 10,000 tier points, pushing you up to
185,000 points in the scenario I've mentioned.

And apparently there are other bonuses for other things?

But who knows! Why don't they send out an email explaining things!!???

I also got a phone call from the nice Rio host I spoke to today, saying
there was no email address on my account, and she wanted to make sure I had
one in the system before they change over to all email (whenever that is -
sometime in 2016 I think). The strange thing is -- I do have an email in the
system -- and if I look at my totalreward.com account, there it is. And I
do get email.

Lord have mercy...(and I'm not even religious)....

My Vegas host really spun me up first telling me she couldn't book the
Cincinnati trip we had verbally discussed 2 weeks ago, and then in the same day
saying yes she could after all!

By the way, the nice Rio host also told me that they (meaning the hosts and
I guess Rio personnel) are hoping that Corporate soon reverses some of the
benefit/offer cuts. I guess someone is realizing that if they cut the
offers for free play by 50% they are losing their better players (like 7 stars
and Diamond members). These poor hosts jobs are on the line, if the
players stop coming!

Well anyway -- I will update you if I find out more.

I believe that until recently Caesars had "use 'em or lose 'em" contracts with various hotels. Those contracts were voided in the Caesars bankruptcy proceedings in order to preserve cash.

I presume the restriction on award trip lodging is to protect CZR from those patrons who might book a destination with no intent to play. (situations where CZR ends up absorbing a hard hotel comp for player to visit distant family or sight see, for example)

Not entirely unreasonable, but not sure how prevalent such "no play" trips are (outside of LV ;)

In any case, if you already have a room offer from prior play, I presume that will still be honored for such a trip. Also wondeing if a player with strong track record might be able to still wrangle a room in these circumstances.

The no guaranteed free rooms is not a new thing, at least for Cincy, Hammond and Philadelphia. That has been in place for a while. It may be that host discretion has changed.

Cincinnati too about the trip -- no one knew about the changes until they just
published the new rules.

What a letdown for me personally, and I am sure for others of you.

The rules don't say, but I am assuming the 80000 point aspiration trip is
also excluded from these cities -- see below --

Between the cutbacks on free play offers, and now 7 star cutbacks-- Caesars
is going to be losing a lot of business.....

maximum total of four consecutive nights.
· Room type accommodations are subject to availability; blackout
dates apply and may vary by property. (Room and tax only.)
· Certain blackout dates apply and vary by property.
· Airfare expense limited to $1,200, applicable toward coach
round-trip tickets. ($600 per person or $1,200 for Seven Stars member if
traveling alone.) Anything over $1,200 must be covered using a Seven Stars member'
s Reward Credits®, cash or credit card, at the member's option.
· A $500 folio credit is included and may be applied to food,
beverages and on-property shows for the entire trip. Some restrictions may
apply. If the check exceeds $500, the excess should be charged to the member in

· Transportation will be provided to and from the airport and the
Total Rewards destination.
· Retreat must be taken outside of the region where the Seven
Stars guest plays most.
· The Retreat Benefit cannot be used consecutively with the

· Completing the Seven Stars Retreat requires the package be
completed in its entirety, which requires a room stay at any one TR property.
COMPANION CARD
· The Seven Stars Companion Card entitles its bearer to all Seven
Stars priority service benefits, including Diamond/Seven Stars lounge
access. Lounge access is limited to companion only, no guests. Lounge access may
be restricted due to special events, private parties or during peak
periods; during these periods, companions may be required to be accompanied by a
Diamond or Seven Stars member. Other restrictions, fees and limits may
apply and vary by property.
· The Companion must adhere to all Total Rewards rules and
regulations.
· Card will be issued by a host or Total Rewards representative at
any time during the year.
· Both the Seven Stars member and the companion must be present in
order to obtain a Companion Card.
· Companion must be 21 years of age or older.
· Card bearer's photo should appear on the back of the card. In
states requiring signature strips, a signature strip will be placed on the
back of the Card.
· Each Seven Stars member can only elect one Companion per benefit
year and cannot change the companion during that time for any reason.
· An individual can only hold one Companion Card. For example,
once a member reaches Seven Stars status, the Diamond Companion Card will be
forfeited for a Seven Stars Companion Card.
· Lost or stolen Cards may be replaced, but only in the name of
the original Card bearer.
· Associated accounts separated in the state of Nevada and
California will both be eligible for a Seven Stars Companion Card if both members

[vpFREE] 7star rule changes - no 7 star trip or free rooms in Cincinnati, Philadelphia...

 

Just got an email from my host, my planned June 7 star trip to Cincinnati
is now a NOGO -- new rule changes -- argh -- no free rooms or "retreat" 7
star 1500000 point trips to Cincinnati or Philadelphia or other properties
that do not have their own hotel!

See below for the new rules she sent me.

She also said "you won't be happy!" Wow is she right - I just spent
several hours getting all the flight information for said trip to send to her
for both a 7 star trip and a 80000 point trip. I had spoken to a host in
Cincinnati too about the trip -- no one knew about the changes until they just
published the new rules.

What a letdown for me personally, and I am sure for others of you.

The rules don't say, but I am assuming the 80000 point aspiration trip is
also excluded from these cities -- see below --

Between the cutbacks on free play offers, and now 7 star cutbacks-- Caesars
is going to be losing a lot of business.....

NCL TIER DISCOUNT
· Seven Stars members will receive a 30% discount for Insides to

discount, they have to contact a Personal Cruise Consultant with Norwegian

VOYAGE
· Voyage limited to two people, one of which must be the Seven

· Sailings must be fully completed no later than March 31, 2016.

March 31, 2016); members with associated accounts in the state of Nevada
or California will receive one Voyage per couple unless both associated
members qualify for Seven Stars status.
