I have been a big player at mgm in the past 3 years and I still haven't been contacted with mailings etc. from this new club.

However, I see no particular benefits -- and have received no "official" mailing notifying me of this, nor have I received a list of "benefits". They make a big deal about comping yourself and knowing what your comp dollars and tier points are, but that's just "standard" with most player's clubs these days. I always hated the MGM procedure of "Just charge everything to your room and we'll evaluate your play at the end of your stay." MGM properties don't even have anything similar to Caesars Diamond Clubs -- not that they're anything special in Las Vegas, but at least you can get a free snack and a couple of cocktails. I haven't made a trip to Vegas yet under the new system, but I'll be curious how I'm treated -- or treated differently from the past.

Unlike you, I've read the summaries on these cases. There's ample case law and "precedent" on that clause.
[vpFREE] Re: "BIG teams became extinct due to IRS pressure"
Kcace, thanks for the reply. I'm 63 & have made it through life by not
answering robo-calls, not responding to credit card solicitations, tossing junk
mail & have lost hundreds of millions in found money from Nigerian
emailers. I also have a background in financial planning so I might have a better
radar than most when it comes to spotting scams. Don't know where you live
but where I live I can trust my neighbors & know all but one & am active in
the community as part of our Neighborhood Watch & other activities -- no
we don't leave our doors unlocked. We do have gangs & streaks where we have
a murder each day but, in general, I feel that I can trust most people I
meet. When I go to LV or Reno, my trust levels go down but it's still pretty
high for most people & places. In general, I've had a lot of good
experiences with casinos but my goal has become a bit different than most. On this
board, there's a lot of people who are trying to find the high-% play &
believe it's foolish if you don't burn it out. The casino reaction is
predictable & it becomes a competition which can get ugly. I still want to make
money but also want a good time for friends & family that I bring & the
casinos have responded very well in that department. I know I've been cheated but
I've also been overcompensated. I guess if I were in a daily competition
to make money, my attitude would be different but I'm not so I'm just going
to enjoy the current state of affairs & have already adjusted my goals to
when things get worse. In a nutshell, it's "Learn to enjoy what they give
you or play in another sandbox".

Ted,
Unfortunately, in real life cheating goes on all the time. You may not
always be aware of it, but it is in your own interest to educate yourself.
Where there is competion there is cheating. If you want to participate you
should have a strategy for dealing with the type of cheating that you expect
to encounter.

[vpFREE] Las Vegas Hilton Eliminating Cashback
According to signs in the casino, cashback not redeemed by May 1st will only be available for comps. The good news is, until that time we are still getting cashback or comps which varies by machine PLUS free play which is a standard 0.1% on all the video poker machines I checked. After May 1st, it isn't clear what we will earn. I fear it will be just 0.1% free play or comps.
[vpFREE] Re: cosmopolitan
Has anyone got mailers from them yet based on video poker play? Are they still doing next day bounceback free play?

If you were to lose your job through no fault of your own, would you collect unemployment? Would you use some of that money for diversion to play a bit of video poker? Would that make you a bad person? Or, since you don't believe in government dolling out money, would you not take the unemployment and just have no life until you were able to find a job, most likely at less pay and with fewer benefits? Put yourself in their shoes first. If you've never been there, you have no idea to be in poverty, unable to find adequate work, be a part of the working poor who, even though working, do not have enough money to take their children to the doctor or keep a car running.

Just curious, but what is your daily coin-in at Bellagio to get that type treatment, particularly since you don't play ther ofter?

They comp a suite, give me free food, including room service and wet bar, as well as a $200 free play. Love the wet bar, there is always great things in it. The last time we were there we emptied the wet bar at least once a day, and when we would go to eat, there were usually 4-6 of us. I was surprised that they didn't charge me anythiing. But they won't give me free movies. I also get tickets to any of their shows comped, as well as offers for their star performers.

Technically, it is 100K tier credits. For general VP, that equates to $1M coin-in. Just half that for slots.
