We just got home from a stay at M'Bay, and there were signs promoting the players' club everywhere but they weren't really set up to give priority access to anything to higher tier members.
As an example there's a sign with Gold and Platinum cards at the buffet suggesting that they get a line pass, but when we went there for breakfast our last day we walked up to the hostess station and were just led back to the front of the line at the cashier.
There were no special lines for higher tier members at registration, which judging from the crowds I saw one day when a big group checked out would definitely be desirable on a busy day.
I too was surprised how easy it was to get to an "elite" tier. They mailed me a gold card when they rolled the club out in Vegas and bumped me to Platinum after my first afternoon losing money in Luxor's high limit room (which isn't that high limit).
