Like many of you, I was automatically upgraded to Platinum even though I don't feel as though I play that much at MGM properties -- as compared with Caesars/Harrah's. However, I see no particular benefits -- and have received no "official" mailing notifying me of this, nor have I received a list of "benefits". They make a big deal about comping yourself and knowing what your comp dollars and tier points are, but that's just "standard" with most player's clubs these days. I always hated the MGM procedure of "Just charge everything to your room and we'll evaluate your play at the end of your stay." MGM properties don't even have anything similar to Caesars Diamond Clubs -- not that they're anything special in Las Vegas, but at least you can get a free snack and a couple of cocktails. I haven't made a trip to Vegas yet under the new system, but I'll be curious how I'm treated -- or treated differently from the past.
