[vpFREE] Gold Strike in Jean, NV

Stopped in today. New management has taken over and new name Is Terrible's Road House. Old slot cards no longer work. Slot points from old card (free slot play) are transferred to new card, but not comps. You must keep old card and can still redeem old comps at gift shop, steak house, or hotel for now. I was told old comps can no longer be used for gas. Buffet has been closed and is now a Denny's. You still generate comps and free play on the new slot card. No literature available yet, but FP rate was still 0.1% on machine I played.

They are doing away with coin droppers and attendant pays and are going 100% TITO. The casino floor is like 2/3 empty. I suppose it is possible they have taken some of the old machine off site to install TITO, but I think it is much more likely they are gone permanently. Gone are the 25c FPDW, WHA, 16/11 DW, and $5 9/6 JoB.

[vpFREE] Ticket inflation disease spreads from Stations to Boyd

I swiped my card at a number of Boyd properties for the Saturday and Grand Finale drawings. The rules are pretty confusing-at the "Big Four" casinos, you must earn 4 points to swipe for up to 40 "mystery" tickets. Yet, downtown, I swipe without even playing, and receive 350-450 tickets! The rules say you can earn one more ticket for every 40 points. Why should I play to earn more tickets? They must be giving out hundreds of thousands of "free" tickets, so mine are worth next to nothing.
This drawing ticket inflation thing is one of many reasons I have stopped playing at Stations. It must have worked, though, for Boyd to copy it.
Please note that I am not (yet) complaining about the Seniors drawings-guess we'll find out soon.

[vpFREE] Re: saw everything in Vegas till 2007- what should i see now?

Make sure you have your B Connected card when you go to Gold Coast and Orleans, and remember to swipe it EVERY DAY you play at either property (or any other Boyd casino). Last time I was there, I won two drawings because of swiping (and playing, of course). Right now, there are senior multipliers (and other benefits) every Sunday and Wednesday.

Have fun!

Re: [vpFREE] MGM Mlife question

My experience has been that I receive a quarterly offer good at all MGM Vegas properties. There can be some difference between casinos. For example the Bellagio may offer a room and NYNY may be a suite. Freeplay is consistent between properties but property credits will differ. In additional to the MLife offer, I typically receive a stronger offer from the Casino I played at.

If one plays heavy at one MGM property, how likely
is it to receive free rooms at a different MGM property?
The reason I ask this is due to my desire to stay on the
strip, but not at a dumpy property. It appears the best VP
plays on strip are at the Excalibur, Luxor and Circus
Circus. Unfortunately, none of those hotels tickle my fancy
(I love that phrase). To be quite honest with you, I could
care less about where I stay, but the entourage I run with
does care.

I'm already firmly established with Caesars based on my
Atlantic City play, but they have no playable VP under $5 in
Vegas. And of course, my entourage has an aversion to
Caesars properties to which I can understand, when compared
with many of the MGM properties.

Any advice here would be great (and I know there are
significantly better plays off strip)!

[vpFREE] Re: MGM Mlife question

MLife/MGM can be very decent with cross-property offers in LV -- with one important caveat (theo).

You need a decent theo to garner comp offers to other MGM properties where you don't have established play. Odds are, those "best VP plays" you note have very weak theos assigned to them.

My experience, having recorded stays at MGM and Bellagio, with $60k+ one-day coin-in playing 9/6 JB or 8/5 BP, is that my online offers are casino rate. I receive comped room offers for MGM, but not Bellagio.

[vpFREE] Re: saw everything in Vegas till 2007- what should i see now?

For car rentals, the past year I have started using Autoslash.com for Las Vegas (they don't have agreements in all cities that we go to). It will search for the lowest price and give it to you. Then they keep checking and evey few days I'll get offered a lower price right up to the rental date. In LV they are usually offering Sixt (which is right across the street from the Airport car rental complex & they have free van shuttle from it) and E-Z rent a car. In most cases I've gotten a great deal, however once in a while the rate is not much less than National, so I go with them. You do not pay a penny up front and can cancel right up to the rental day so there is nothing to loose by reserving with them and seeing how low they go by the time you are leaving.
