And if they are the same configuration, then the variance will be the same.  If they aren't, then aren't necessarily the same, but likely would be close.

[vpFREE] RE: Harrah's Shocker

Given KC's poker selection, I'm not surprised they are leaving the games the same.  They are terrible to begin with.

We were in KC in September and the host told us they were also putting in all new VP machines but he emphasized that they were putting in the same chips from the old machines so there will be no change to their hold.

The games can be played at the $1 and $2 levels and the three machines on the opposite side of the bank offer the same games at the $5 and $10 levels.

Looks like a few people have reported what they found to vpFREE2.com. Some of the $1 and up paytables remind of the ones at the Cosmopolitan that they had for a few months after they opened.

RE: RE: [vpFREE] Fuel Savings?

Unfortunately for serious players,  playing to get 10 cent gas discounts (500 Tier Points) is gonna likely cost you far more in a single month of mail coupons due to a drop in your ADT than you could save on gas in an entire lifetime.    I've linked my card but only because I use everything possible of the Fuel Rewards Savings and my primary grocery store also gives the discounts.    I tend to play maybe 1x per month rated and play heavily when I do play so I still only earn 10c/gallon.

Structuring your play to maximize fuel discounts is incredibly negative EV for Total Rewards.    It's almost like they structured the rewards to encourage you to trigger more trips and crush your ADT.

So true.  I have hundreds of stories like this during my almost 30 years of casino gambling.  We can – and often do – lose thousands of dollars in one day doing a positive expectation VP play – and then stop by another casino on the way home to pick up $25 – or maybe even less - bounce-back free pay.  Or, I will stoop down to pick up a stray quarter on the ground.

If you have a basic frugal nature, it sticks with you the rest of your life.  Brad calls this "crazy frugal."  I guess I am known for this and thus Harry – and others – are surprised I don't do this "small" fuel program.  Blame it on old age – I am getting just a little tired of details – and that is what extreme frugal trucks in.

Harry and Jean have gone back and forth on whether the Harrah's fuel program is worth the effort. They are both correct. Harry views the time invested being a reasonable cost for the benefits and Jean does not.

People can funny opinions about the value of an activity and relative savings. Funny to me, anyway. Long , long ago a friend and I went to Las Vegas and were downtown having a drink. This is about 25 years ago so we were paying for airfare, paying (moderately) for hotels and food, etc. One of the places downtown had $0.49 Michelobs and $0.75 Heinekens. I bought the first round, 2 Heinekens, and paid $1.50 for them ( plus tip). My friend got the next round and came back with 2 Michelobs. I asked why he switched and he proudly said "these are $0.26 cheaper". I informed him that you have paid $300 for airfare, another $100 or so for the hotel rooms, $50 - $75 for food and a couple hundred gambling budget and you are worried about $0.26? He gave me a funny look as if to say "well, if you are going to look at it like THAT".

So, people place different values on things. I give away a lot of coupons and most of the time, I don't think the people realize what they have received. These are people who are standing in line at a buffet with a family of four and I give them 2 buy one, get one free offers. They might say thank you and might not. They don't value that as much as handing them $20 ( even though the benefit is the same assume a $10 buffet for simplicity).  The net effect is the same. They have $20 more in their pocket but is viewed with as no big deal ( the 2:1 offers) and the other would be viewed much more positively.

[vpFREE] Re: My Trip Report

I accidentally hit the send button.
Played several hours at Sun Coast on BP, DW, DDB hit some hands but went to bed down another $150.
Got up on Sat and went for a swim in their heated pool. Sat in the hot tub for awhile then went back to my room for some fruit and banana nut bread . Went down to the casino and played some STP at 10 play 10 cent. Did pretty well and played for over an hour. Started playing that nickel 5 play progressive close to the gift shop, hit 4 aces on the deal, then about 5 hands later got 4. 10's on the deal out.
Last trip report from Royal Flusher had a code to get tickets to Veronic Voices at Ballys for $2.50 each. About 2 weeks before I got the code, I ate lunch at Canes and won. $10 at Ticketmaster. I was going to just throw it away but decided to check with family to see if anybody wanted it. Anyway it was still in my car, so when I went in to buy the tickets for $2.50 ea it was on Ticketmaster so I got the paper and used it to buy the tickets and there was a "check here to donate $5 to Red Cross" so I did and I was able to use the whole. $10 certificate . So we were scheduled to see the show at 7 PM on Sat night. A vendor at my husbands meeting invited us for dinner on Sat night. And by dinner , I mean limo service to and from the Venetian where we were eating at Carnevino. So we skipped the show at Ballys and had a great time at the Venetian. Dinner was wonderful. Their bone-in rib eye was delicious. Back at Sun Coast, played a little vp, no big wins or loses then to bed.

[vpFREE] Re: My Trip Report

Leaving my hometown at security, I was given a pink paper which let me keep my shoes on thru security, then after exiting security, I stopped for a coke with ice. I had a $5 out to pay
But the guy said "It's on me, don't worry about it. I thanked him and dropped a $1 in the tip jar. Flights were smooth and non- eventful just the way I like them.
Arrived McCarran at about 4PM on Friday, discovered that Delta's luggage carousel has been changed from lucky #7 to #16. Got my bag, took the shuttle to car rental and met my husband there. He came out on Wed toe some meetings . He still had meetings so I had him drop me off at South Point. I planned to get one of their hotdogs with mustard and kraut for 75 cents but they had just sold out and were closing for the day . I went over to the deli looking for something small , the girl recommended a slice of pizza. So that's what I got. It was terrible tasted like cardboard so I picked the pepperoni off and ate it and threw the rest away. Started playing on a decent pay DDB, lost about. $40 . Walked around checking out machines, saw a 25 cent DW progressive bank but every seat was taken. I sat down at the next bank
and as I waited for an opening, played 5 play TBD. Hit a couple of quads but when a seat opened up , I was only up about $50. Changed seats to the progressive , it was up to about $2600. Played there for 2.5 hours. Never got 4 deuces or the royal but did well enough that when I quit I was only down about $100. Played a 5 play BP and came out about $50 up but still losing about a hundred. My husband came back to pick me up and we stopped at The Peppermill for dinner. Got the big fruit thing to go. Went out to Sun Coast and checked in for the weekend . I really like Sun Coast . Their rooms all have refrigerators so we had stopped to get orange juice and Pepsi.

RE: RE: RE: [vpFREE] Fuel Savings?

I also hand out coupons to people who are already in line for a buffet or maybe the Eiffel Tower. Sometimes they barely look up but sometimes they are appreciative. You can't tell what the reaction will be beforehand.  About the Fuel Savings - looks  like way too much attention is needed. Delta gas is WAY cheaper. Also, we go to Mohegan Sun where we can use points to fill up.

Hi Gang:
I was looking at the VPFree2 database and it shows that Borgata has 12 machines with a Super Double Bonus game that returns 99.69%. Does anyone know if this is up to date and that these machines actually exist? We haven't played at the Borg in years but we're thinking about giving them some play over the next two months.
Thanks for any help
Regards,
