RE: [vpFREE] Re: Maniac at Stations

What happened to Frank Kneeland?  I thought he claimed the title as fastest? :)

[vpFREE] Boyd Onyx Tier

I had never heard of this – is it still being given out anywhere, does anyone know? – I never heard of anyone getting it in Las Vegas.

I Goggled it and someone said it was by invitation only.

I believe there is a similar higher level at the Palms, above Hall of Famer – and I do know one person who got that once but I forgot the name of the tier.  Does anyone know if they are still giving them out???

Re: [vpFREE] Maniac at Stations

I'm nearly positive that was the same guy I saw in the video too. He wasn't wearing a hat when I saw him, but the mannerism of play is the same - the split touch to hold two cards at the same time, the constant banging on the draw button, etc. So it looks like Stations *is* tolerant of play like this.

The fellow did seem pretty quick. Unfortunately the clip is too short to really clock accurately, but he did appear to be playing sub 2 seconds .The clip was certainly not long enough or clear enough to see what kind of an error rate he would have.

Since the original post was talking about playing two machines, so was the 2300 figure

I am simply amazed that anyone could do that. I am not talking about the "maniac", I am talking about James Beam who could tell the "maniac" was playing perfectly. At the speed he was playing I wouldn't be able to tell if ANY play he did was correct, my brain does not work that fast. Congratulations Mr. Beam.

Re: [vpFREE] Maniac at Stations

Most people lose accuracy when they concentrate on speed.  I NEVER recommend that someone tries to play as fast as they can (unless it is in a speed tournament).  I DO recommend that you concentrate on accuracy and as you get more experienced your speed will naturally pick up. But there is always the danger of losing concentration, being distracted, getting tired – even if you are a long-term player.  So keeping your aim toward accuracy is always better than shooting for speed.

Wouldn't want to challenge anybody, but I'd love to see a video of someone playing that fast just to see how accurately they played.

It's been covered before, check the archives, Frank Kneeland is the fastest in Vegas, he won all the speed and endurance tournaments when they still had them. He idles around 3000 hph, but he doesn't like to brag about it. If you want to challenge him for money, he might be interested.

If he was playing 1,500 hands per hour, he would have made about $30 on FPDW (or almost nothing in DDB) during the 2 hours you've seen him playing like that - hardly enough to warrant a drastic action from the casino.
