[vpFREE] Re: Foxwoods NSUD:Can I get a tiny bit of help from someone with VP software?

I would say that is some "MOST EXCELLENT!!!" EV. You're going to be twittering your location and progress, correct? Seems like there should be a twitter feed for "where is Bob Dancer playing this weekend". Free is always nice, but you know, some people might even be willing to pay for this information. Actually, probably anybody in their right mind should be willing to pay something, it's just a question of the details.

I call these situation far better than "good." And saying so is hardly "condescending."

Within the context of the post, I believe my statement made sense. My post moved the conversation along. The OP was talking about good games only being over 100%. I've experienced games like 9/6 Jacks or Better with an $800/hour expectation because of slot club and promotions. Next weekend I'll be playing 9/6 DDB with a positive expectation about that size. I call these situation far better than "good." And saying so is hardly "condescending."

It's difficult for me to understand how Luke's post was informative or helpful to anyone. It's his right not to like me --- and he has exercised that right repeatedly on this forum. But doesn't it make more sense to go Dancer-bashing when I've actually said something out of line?

"Monitoring a casino" might be a rather vague concept to many people.
What vpFREE2 really needs is to have people periodically confirming
all the video poker listed and reporting changes to them. Anyone can
do this using the "Send Update" tab on each casino. Doesn't have to be
an official monitor.

RE: [vpFREE] Scot Krause's LVA Players Club Bonus Points Update - 1 JUN 2013

There was nothing listed for bonus points in what the GC sent me for June. Sam's reports there are NO bonus points open to the general public there this month. Orleans only gave me what I had posted for locals only but my individual mailer calendar shows more bonus days, also reported by others and from GC as well. No official word from Suncoast as yet. As you (Jean) mentioned in her blog, Boyd is becoming very confusing as to what they are offering and who can actually take advantage of the promotions!

I see Gold Coast is not listed. No information, Scot, available yet for everyone points? Usually the Monday Senior points are not just for locals, but that may have changed? I think maybe the Tuesday bonus points from 4-10 p.m are for locals only – but I'm not sure of that either. They were both on our mailers but no details.

I understand your point of view. A lot of us would like certain
types of information provided for free --- and somebody else's
determination of what should or should not be listed on vpfree2 might
not satisfy our needs.

It is, however, costly to provide this
information. If I were a casino monitor, I couldn't rank the various under 98%
Deuces Wild pay schedules as to which one is best without doing some
homework. (Can you?) I know the ones that are good, but the others I just haven't
studied. To me the difference between a 96.8% game and a 97.3% game is irrelevant. I do not see one as half a percent better than the other. To me they are both equally unplayable.

To identify ALL pay schedules, instead of just the
"good" ones greatly amplifies the work required and the knowledge
required to collect and process that information.

One thing
about a free site. People always want more information--- and they
insist on the additional information being free as well.

The
managers of vpfree2 have to make practical decisions about what
information would be useful to the most number of people --- and how
much it costs to collect and distribute that information. It's very
possible they think people who would actually play a 96% game wouldn't
have enough savvy to check vpfree2 anyway. They might believe that these players actually hurt the cause of good video poker because the only way to get better pay schedules is to have players refuse to play the bad ones.

All in all, I think the site provides a valuable service to players.

Perhaps they should have a policy that if you have a special request, you should first agree to monitor three casinos near where you live for at least six months. It strikes me as fair that the ones who contribute to providing information to others should have the best chance of getting their wishes granted. The people who only use the information, complain about it, and do not contribute should have a lesser chance of getting their wishes granted. But that's just my opinion.

Bob

I disagree. Granting the assumption that less-than-100% gambling opportunities are unplayable (which I agree with but clearly some folks on here do not. I'll comment on that in my next post.), the key thing to be concerned with is (game return + slot club return + mailers + promotions) exceed 100%. Any of the games you listed with the right slot club and/or promotion can be excellent and profitable games to play --- and excellent means better than good.

[vpFREE] vpFREE Posting Guidelines - 1 JUN 2013

vpFREE Posting Guidelines - 1 JUN 2013

http://www.west-point.org/users/usma1955/20228/V/POL_P.htm

1. Everyone should read and be familiar with the vpFREE
FAQ before posting messages on vpFREE Forums.

2. Every message's subject line should accurately identify
the content of the message, to facilitate faster navigation
by interested or uninterested members.

3. If you reply to a message and change the subject matter,
either start a new thread (preferable) with a new subject
line or rename the subject line to reflect its new focus.

4. When replying to messages, quote just enough of the
previous post to maintain continuity. Delete the rest of
the previous post.

5. When replying to messages, clearly differentiate the
previous message(s) from your comments, so that it will be
easy to identify who wrote what.

6. Never post lengthy copyrighted material verbatim without
permission. This includes posts from non-vpFREE internet
forums. Instead, post a link to the material and/or a
summary. Short, credited excerpts may be quoted.

7. Don't use any vpFREE member's real name, even their
first name, on any vpFREE forum unless they themselves use
their real name there.

8. As a spam prevention measure, no one can upload to the
Files Directory on the vpFREE home page unless they get
temporary upload access from the Administrator.

9. Casino personnel probably monitor vpFREE Groups so posts
containing sensitive information should take this into
consideration.

10. Members are expected to observe the rules of
Netiquette , and to practice politeness and show good taste
in their vpFREE posts.

11. Any post that disagrees with vpFREE Dogma and
reaches contradictory conclusions, should be supported with
significant, persuasive documentation. Generalizations and
limited anecdotal evidence aren't persuasive.

12. Most vpFREE members rely on the forum for accurate
information, and may misunderstand, misinterpret or be
confused by tongue-in-cheek posts which are presented as
fact. Always make it very clear in your posts if they are
tongue-in-cheek, by using "smilies", stating that you're
kidding or something similar.

13. Use FREEvpFREE for any political, religious, or smoking
vs. non-smoking discussions. Non-partisan status reports
about smoking and non-smoking availability in casinos are OK
on vpFREE.

14. If you have Yahoo administrative problems, send a
private email to the Administrator, after you have checked
the vpFREE Yahoo! Administrative Problems Directory.

15. Let the Administrator do the administrating. Send any
comments, questions, suggestions or disagreements about
vpFREE policies or procedures to the Administrator via
private email or post them on FREEvpFREE.
