RE: [vpFREE] Liam W. Daily for the HOF

slowpoke wrote:

Liam Daily did more than any other nominee to help me (and probably many others) become better players. Liam Daily's insight and explanation about how to classify three card straight flushes into just four categories (i.e. SF3+1, SF3+0, SF3-1 and SF3-2) is an outstanding contribution to the theory of how to rank vp hands and is a valuable asset for anyone who wants to play perfectly.

Others may have thought of something similar but Liam Daily explained the theory and he (and Bob) publicized it and made it accessible to everyone. I 100% agree. He's in my personal Hall of Fame. He was a very private guy and few people here ever met him, other than me. For that reason, I don't think he will ever get the 33% of the votes required and a vote for him is "wasted" because he can't possibly be elected. (The same is probably true of Hans Lund. Mickey has endorsed him whole-heartedly, but few voters ever knew him and most of us tend to vote for somebody we know or is prominently known. It sounds like Tuna is HOF-worthy, I don't think he has a chance either.) That is why I'm voting for Ernie Moody, who invented Triple Play. We all KNOW what he did and it affected all of our playing careers. Bob

But upon closer inspection the photo is also a stark reminder of why you use the vpFREE2 database only as a starting point for finding the best machines. Not unreasonable to wonder how long this play was known and how many others simply kept their mouths tightly shut.

My reaction too. What's the saying about a picture being worth 1000 words? The $40K is great. But upon closer inspection the photo is also a stark reminder of why you use the vpFREE2 database only as a starting point for finding the best machines. Not unreasonable to wonder how long this play was known and how many others simply kept their mouths tightly shut.

Congratulations!

But $1 9/6 Jacks at the Luxor? Looks like I have to my own investigation and not rely on the database for my Vegas trip this week.

RE: [vpFREE] Hollywood Columbus and St louis

I have not been to the Hollywood in Columbus, OH (vpfree2 comments
"Well-lit, friendly, but a VP wasteland" with no >98% games listed so far)
but I've updated the Hollywood St. Louis vpfree2 entries over the last
couple of weeks. Quarter 9/6 JoB and the 35/8/5 BP are available on 8 slant
tops - check out the vpfree2 entry for locations and the rest of the 99%+ VP
machines.

The St. Louis Hollywood is scheduled to be linked with Columbus and several
other sites in the future - unsure as to the exact dates.

Best of Luck!

I have a road trip coming up, has anyone been to Hollywood Columbus? Any
good quarter vp? What's that area like? Are the cards connected with St
Louis? Does St Louis still have the quarter 9/6 jacks and 8/5 bonus and the
8/5 jacks/bonus that paid 175 for 4oak's that Harrahs had?

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Starting hands that result in RF

Hey Harry--reading about you're dealt royal on dollar tp yesterday must have been inspiring. Last night at Fandango I was also dealt my 3rd ever, on $2. Wasn't there more than 10 minutes. Then on my first visit to Bodines down the street, I was dealt a pair of 10's on dollars three times in a row without improvement. So next hand up was a 10 high so I held it, and the thing filled in.

Turns out I didn't need to wait nearly that long (2021); I scored my first multiline dealt RF today ($1 TP)

Before I got 86ed (my only official 86ing) from there,
I really enjoyed the food. Their pork chops were the
best!

[vpFREE] LVA Question of the Day - 9 DEC 2012

LVA Question of the Day - 9 DEC 2012

Q: I don't like resort fees, but it seems like the hotels
get you one way or the other. For example, if you stay at
LVH, there's no resort fee (yay!), but they charge for
internet access and use of the fitness room. In the end, I
would end up paying at least as much as the resort fee at
many other resorts. So...which is better?
