[vpFREE] Re: Seats added at M

Well that's more or less correct. It's closer to 70% of the time and my criteria for "a play" is higher than almost anyone I know. These days I won't sit down for less than $60 and hour, unless I have an ulterior motive.

Most consider $20 an hour decent wages. Look at the folks pounding away on FPDW at the Palms. I did my time, back in the day, on similar games, but I didn't get a teeshirt.

Note: Many of the games reach 102.5% in the low $3,000 range if you count cash-back, meter-rise, and mailer. Why is it that everyone seems to forget that all the perks apply to these games that apply to non-progressives and the meter goes up while you play???

[vpFREE] Re: Seven Stars Event

Sure, I'll note a few downers:
1) When we arrived at AC airport, we were on a list of the "anderson paty" and directed to a shuttle bus where we sat (no AC) for 15 minutes waiting for the andersons.
Not one of the 12 limos had a sign indicating destination. Finally, found a limo going to Bally's but had to ask half of the drivers.

2) The room at check-in was not the kind we (always) requested; A standard room with ocean view (why go to AC if not for an oceanview?). Took an hour to get the room ready.

3) Our friends arrived that night and 7* check in room had closed.
They and a dozen others behind them checked in at 7* counter but it was not staffed until they raised hell.

4) For the massage, told to go to Harrah's and upon arrival was told it was at Ballys.

And to top-off the trip, our ride back to airport was a no-show. We took a cab; an adventure where the cab driver took back roads apparently to avoid tolls.

One kudo was the slot tournamemt. Was impressed at how quickly they moved people through the ordeal. But when your dealing with 1000 participants, a drawing would have been better.

And as far as James saying "98% sounds good" ----- Huh?

Re: [vpFREE] Help with machine locations at Sam's Town LV

Machine #1 is in the high limit area near the registration desk. Machine #2 (topped by a sign saying "over 100% return" is between the last craps table and the $5 progressive bank on the wall near the main cashier. Both are uprights, and both are $2 per point, as noted on the machines. Both have no other games on them. I have rarely found both occupied. While my information is several months old, these have been in the same location for at least a couple of years.

Hope this helps.

I scoured the vpfree site and saw that Sam's has a couple of $1 10/7 DB machines in the casino. I am a little unsure of their locations. Machine #1 is an upright "in the high limit alley" does anyone know where that is? I see a high limit slot area on the site map near the registration desk, but I have also heard on the boards that there is a high limit area near the arcade and movie complex. Has anyone seen this machine?? #2 is "near cashier" I see the cashier downstairs on the site map, but it doesn't say on the vpfree site if it is an upright or slant top or what?? There is also an escalator in the area, is it north or south of that?? Thank you all for your help! Obviously if they are labeled double bonus poker then it will be an easy find, but it looks like some major paytable hunting is ahead. All help is appreciated!

[vpFREE] Re: Seven Stars Event

We went to the 4 day event and had a great time. We went to each event, so it was a little taxing, but were glad we did. They went all the way with the food at each event. We had, as I recall, $300 in food vouchers and they even allowed us to use them at Morton's. My wife enjoyed the Dancing with the stars meet & greet and the Lionel Richie concert was over the top. They spent a lot of dough per person for each of the events and to Limo us each way all the way from Philly airport. We also walked away with the most expensive Ipad2 wifi/3g for 3 cents using the shopping certificates, the apple gift cards, etc. I also stumbled into a royal flush at the Showboat (where we really enjoyed the Sunday gospel brunch at the house of blues). Sat down at the first machine, on the third play I drew 2 to a royal!

Rumor has it that the bank of progressives near the bingo hall that used to have three 9-6 JOB are now short pay DDB. Sad that ST would feel the need to re-chip antique machines at this late date. Not as if they weren't making money on them!

I believe most every non-LV Harrah's venue has stronger paytables than those found in LV these days. (Check vpFREE2 listings).

Were I otherwise inclined to put through only 10000-20000 tier credits each year, I too seriously doubt I would stretch to 7* solely for the sake of 7* benefits. However, I generally find myself well above 50000 without specifically striving for it. Pushing to 7* in those years where otherwise I might not reach it without a specific drive has been a no-brainer.

At this point this year, I'm over 150K tier. Bev, who's only been Diamond until now, is over 50K. Given that standing, we now find it worthwhile to stretch her to 7* (preferably by Oct 31, so she can realized the full potential of 2011 benefits).

FWIW, I'm not suggesting the AC hosts outstanding opportunities. Just acceptable ones to grind away at as a local looking for "recreational play". I envision AC will be an occasional visit once we move to Atlanta, and if we continue to qualify for 7* it will be on the strength of trips to other venues such as New Orleans, Tunica, Tahoe, etc. ($80K monthly, $1000K annual coin-in from 1 or 2 trips a month isn't that hard to acheive at all)

He played fine. FPDW is just about the easiest game out there to learn. I could probably teach my parakeets to play in under an hour!
One bad mistake which I still see is people holding 2 pair.
No his only problem was getting beat by the variance, assuming Larry Volk didn't program the machine...

Sure it's possible to lose $90,000 on $1 FPDW, but with an outlier like that I'd be suspicious that a few drinks or a lack of study might have had something to do with his loss.

In hospital, very tired, they took chest tube out.  Will probably be here a
couple more days.  I don't know.  Might send me to rehab hospital.  This is
worse than knee surgery.
