Yeah, that was pretty smooth too.

There ain't no "low" pair in my game-FPDW. I should have clarified that.

Yah. Shows the M games, despite all the harping, are a damn good deal. Hope they last.

[vpFREE] Questions for Bill Zender on the Bob & Frank Show

In anticipation of Bill Zender's appearance on next week's Bob & Frank Show, I thought it might be productive to start a thread where we can organize points and questions that we want to see presented to him during the interview.

Here are some of my ideas:

1. How long has he been doing serious consulting? How extensive has his schedule been? Indian Casinos? Racinos? Non-Nevada gaming entities?

2. He stated in his book something to the effect that sometimes middle-management has agreed with his conclusions, even when his ideas depart from "mainstream", but has sometimes been reluctant to go against the short-sightedness of the owners or top management. Has he seen any change in this since he began consulting? In other words, how effective does he think he has been in "getting the message out"?

3. Much of what is discussed in Casino-ology and Casino-ology-2 centers around the game of Blackjack. Does he have some equally strong opinions on management of a casino's video poker layout? If so, does he intend to continue his Casino-ology series and cover thoughts on video poker?

4. Does he recognize and/or agree that causing players to switch from slots to video poker can be tantamount to "player development"?

5. Does he also recognize and/or agree that a casino can benefit from both recreational players AND pro/winning players if they incorporate the right kind of progressive video poker games in their inventory?

[vpFREE] Re: Hey Frank...about that 3% progressive meter?

A place where they kick out pros in very unethical ways, like the recent Suncoast debacle.

To play a progressive in a heat joint you have to give them cover action when the meter is low, and ingratiate yourself as a regular player.

Major pain in the )*&^

Basically, the worst kind experiences pro-VP has to offer.

The base game is lower than 95% return. You think M is scary? Ha!!!

This one chills even my blood every time it gets up. Since it has to get so high to be playable, it is not as good as M by a long stretch.

It is far and it is a heat joint as well. I can say no more.

P.S. Oh, and it's not in Winnemucca.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: SP vs. The M. Was: New Game Suggestion for FrankNBobs

FYI - I met a pro at the Cal, while chasing a prog who told me that she blew
$6000 at the M chasing, and then switched over to the better EV California
progressive and blew another $8000 in a 40 hour go-for-the-royal bender. As
she left she commented "Oh well, another bank account down the drain ! "

>> Im just letting people know that staying camped at a high variance
progressive is not the way to spend a vacation because its a 104% play.
People do come to Vegas after reading about advantage play and get their
dreams shattered when they cant hit the magical royal.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Red rock adding 100 percent machines

My Favorite deuces game at RR - is the rare & hard to find , 15/10 super
bonus deuces ( 100.12 ). Its a smidge less EV than LDW, but way less
volatile. I was kinda surprised , after playing 80% of my action on >100% FP
machines, that my host picked up $290 of the $300 left on my bill ( T-bones
is one of the most expensive places in Vegas ! ). Since this is now the top
Station, they were telling me their goal is 40% tourist, 60% local action.
I'll be going back there now for certain.
PS - not sure what would happen if I won for the 2 holiday weekend nights,
but a $50 loss is what the bottom line looked like.
best....Tom

-------------------

Just to be clear, here is what Bob Dancer said in the very first announcement of these games. Directly from his May 10th article.

"If you normally play for dollars, I recommend you start on these games for quarters until you get an appreciation for the swings. If you are someone who lives from one Social Security check to the next, I suggest you avoid these games altogether --- or set some kind of limit (perhaps $100 or less per week). These games can definitely "eat up" the under-financed."

And so, with THAT, there really should be no illusions or misunderstandings.

I see people keep accurate records playing poker on a daily basis so I dont know why you would think this is odd. I see people record every four of a kind with their detailed session records so keeping track of royal misses isn't that unfathomable. How do people know if the math is correct or what your win is for the year without accurate records? Just looking at your points and wallet isnt very accurate. You must be pretty damn special Bob.
>

And thank you for comparing apples to oranges, Sai. Keeping accurate records of your poker sessions is completely different than keeping track of how many one-card royals in video poker you've missed, on SO many levels. The first being very wise and informative, and the latter being a complete waste of time. Speaking of wasting time, I'm not here to argue with you.

Look and see how many people hold both pairs in a dealt 2 pair or fail to hold consecutive suited cards with a single deuce or don't hold (or miss) inside straights and you will have an answer to "why".
