[vpFREE] Re: Oops! I did it again ...

FWIW.

I thought that I would update this post. Maybe Harry would not
feel right about doing it.

I believe the $5 dealt royal referred to was his first $5 royal,
but now, not his last. The first was on Sunday, June 30th, and
a few days later he had his second $5 royal. This came by holding
4 spades and receiving the 10 of spades on the draw.

I was on a trip from Phoenix to Cherokee. Harry knew the days that
I would be at Cherokee and there was a slight chance he might also make a short visit on one of those days. To my surprise I looked
up to a voice and it was Harry. We talked a few minutes before he settled in to play at the seat next to me.

After only a few seconds of play, he turn and said "wish me luck".
I did, and the rest is history. He said it was his 14th hand!
I asked him where did he get his royal only a few days earlier.
He said right here at Cherokee and on the same machine. And here
I thought that he picked that machine so he could sit next to me
and visit!

Re: [vpFREE] safety for women in casinos

I have not, but if it happens, I will immediately summon help to my machine and call security and you should, too. You never know what their game may be, but I bet they have one of some kind.

Can anyone tell me if they have had a similar problem? I have had this happen at the Cosmopolitan several times and again the other day at Horseshoe Casino in Cleveland. I am a woman, 70 yrs old, playing slots, usually with other people around me. A young mail will come up behind me, tap my shoulder several times and run off. The one young man kept touching me and telling me that he simply wanted me to enjoy my game while his friends were in hysterics nearby. This has happened to me about 3 times and is more than just a little disconcerting. I hope it never happens again, but if it does, I will report it to security, I do not know what they can do. It is such a strange thing, and they act totally innocent, like they are just being friendly, but being touched by a stranger is not appropriate. I would love to know if this is some sort of a silly "game" and if other women (or men) have had similar incidents.

It's a good thing you responded. If you didn't respond, they probably would have escalated. In a casino you need to be aware of the people around you at all times, and make sure nobody follows you to your room or your car or wherever. An old trick that works is to carry a heavy purse, with a brick inside, you can use that to clobber your assailant if you have to. Of course pepper spray or a concealed weapons permit also work well in a situation that is obvious from a legal standpoint.

Re: [vpFREE] safety for women in casinos

I was in LV in both January and May and stayed at the Cosmopolitan both times and I have not had a problem. I am 63 years old and usually play by myself. If anyone tapped me on the shoulder more than once, security would definitely hear about it. I have also played at Horseshoe Southern IN, no problems there either.

It sounds as if they are trying to distract you, which would make it possible to grab your pocketbook or even hit a cash out button on your machine to take your money. If it happens again, I suggest you scream as loudly as you can and make a huge scene for your protection. At most casinos, you will have security with you quickly and they can question the young men if they stick around very long.
