Re: [vpFREE] Re: Defective Meter Rate on Progressives

An interesting question. I noticed the fact that the meter had not progressed from the previous day, when I'd arrived at FW. That's why I called it to someone's attention, and the circus began. But because the data had not transmitted, I suspect it would have been paid at the lower figure. But that's mere speculation, with obviously no way to ascertain what would actually have happened.

Wonder what the payoff would  have been had someone "hit" while the $800
was not registering.

[vpFREE] former Sam's Town host, Kathi Gant

Does anyone know if Kathi Gant, my long time host at Sam's Town, has gone to a different casino in Las Vegas? Does anyone know how to get in touch with her? She was considered a friend to my husband and myself and I would like to be able to check in with her. Thanks. Paula

There's a bit more info on their website now. They will match free slot play offers "from any AC casino" and "A complete AC casino mail piece that includes guest name and address is required. Mail piece will not be returned."

I looked for 9/6 DDB at the Tuscany today.

At least half of the single-line multigame machines on the floor have 25c/50c/$1 9/6 DDB. DDB at the bars is all 9/5 in 25c/50c/$1/$2/$5.

Will report to vpFREE2.com.

Re: [vpFREE] new york video poker

Thanks, to all who responded.  I was kinda afraid of that.  But forewarned is forearmed.  I will definitely keep that in mind and if I go to the Mighty M I will just bet on the horse races. Again, thanks.

Racinos in New York are not individual machines they are tied into a central computer which works on a lottery system. All racinos are tied together by this central computer and video poker strategy does not apply. It is not a RNG
You could close your eyes and play because the central computer decides when you will win and this is based on percentages throughout the state at the same time

If you are dealt a winning hand you are guaranteed to get that or better even if you throw all cards away
New York has to give approximately a 91.7 return at these racinos

Re: [vpFREE] Defective Meter Rate on Progressives

That happened to me at Foxwoods once. I called over a slot attendant, who then called over a suit. The suit called over three more suits. Then finally someone took his head out of, well, you know where it was, and they called over a slot technician, who actually could do something about it. It took a while, and two more techs, with the bottoms of the machines opened up with modems, routes and who knows what else being plugged, unplugged and re-plugged, before it finally got fixed.

The interesting thing was that the progressive jumped up by over $800 instantly as it apparently had stored the info, but just wasn't able to transmit it.

P.S. No, I didn't hit it ; (

I don't know how many times this has happened to me, but it's a significant number. I can remember exactly where I was and when.

I sit down at a bank or bar full of linked progressives, by myself, and start to clock the meter rate. It's usually simple, run $20 coin-in through the machine and note how much the jackpot went up.

But once in a while, I'm in like $18, and it has not gone up even ONE penny! And I'm thinking, "What kinda tightass deal is THIS?" Over time, I have learned that if this happens with the first machine I try, I move to the next machine and try it all over again. Almost without fail the second machine rises normally. So essentially, I probably picked the ONLY machine in the bank that was defective to start my tracking. And this has happened to me a lot.

Do you suppose this is by accident? Or should I be paranoid and start thinking that some casinos do this frequently on purpose, leaving one (or more) machines in a bank that will never add to the meter rise. I don't know why they would do that.

Like I said, I can't tell you how many times this has happened to me, which just seems odd and unlikely.

Re: [vpFREE] Bob Dancer's LV Advisor Column - 25 JUN 2013

Bob,

Biltmore Estate is a lovely place to visit (although pricey).
Wonderful pond to walk around reminds me of Walden Pond (Thoreau), but
with fewer people. Gorgeous flowers. Estate was designed by the guy
who did Central Park in NYC...but probably had more money available to
do the Biltmore Estate.

http://www.biltmore.com/

Smoky Mountains are worth a little visit...the name becomes self-
evident. :-)
But the Rockies of Nevada, California, Utah, etc... are more dynamic.

Glad you enjoyed your visit to North Carolina. I visit every year.

Mitchell

P.S. The long drive to the Outer Banks might be worth it sometime.
North Carolina shrimp are amazing. So fresh & flavorful, and the
spices they use are nice. I buy the shrimp from fish markets (rather
than expensive restaurants), and try the different seasonings (buy
them on the side).

Some people buy $7-15 counter-top stoves (ala Asian cooking, where
each person has a little hot plate in front of them) and cook fish
themselves, rather than pay restaurant prices.

RE: [vpFREE] new york video poker

As I have said in the past these machines in New York State are cheaters regardless of their legality.
Imagaine a player finding a '$5 All-American' game. He (or she) thinks he has a 0.7% edge. Does a few
calculations and finds out that his bankroll of $500,000 has almost 0 chance of tapping out. Loses his entire
bankroll. Simaler things have happened to me in the past (although not as much money, as in the senario).
Shame on NYS and other places that have these 'legal games'. Don't you think that when a player goes into a
state sanctioned casino, that player deserves a fair and honest game? These casinos are like the underground
places in the past where cheating was rampent and all with THE BLESSING OF THE STATE. As you can tell I
am furious about this.

The Cherokee casino was noted back in the day to have hacked VP machines. This goes back ~30 years. Before VPFREE maybe but read about it on internet. No relationship with Harrahs in that day.

There really were "mountain folk" then. H2O from well and outhouses.
