Hedy and I got our Revel mailings today which outline its July "You Can't
Lose" offers, but the thing that struck me the most was the thrust of the
package.
The outside of the foldout features the words "Gamblers Wanted" in bold
letters. Also on the outside, it exclaims "New Smoking Areas."
Inside, it points out, "Everybody deserves a second chance" and it goes on
to say "We've made mistakes in the past, and now we're making things right
with the people who matter most to us -- the people who simply like to play
our games."
Attached were some free play offers for the first and second halves of
July. I also got $50 resort dollars (comps), good for the entire month.
It took quite awhile ... and a lot of lost revenue ... but Revel has
finally recognized that to thrive in Atlantic City you have to be a casino first
and a resort second, not the other way around.
Welcome to the real world, Revel. Keep the offers rolling in. "The people
who matter" love to see this kind of competition among casinos.
