[vpFREE] Re: famous poker pros who bust out that Frank's never heard of
Stuey, won millions, got banned from almost every casino for card counting, and did his final cashout with nothing, so you could say he timed it perfectly:

[vpFREE] XVP- Re: Emergancy Contest
One of the six major Teams busted out due to bad math skills. They were a poser team run by an ex-manger of the Red Team. Their leader Tommy was not even close to a "true pro" and they got what they deserved.
The Team that failed was nicknamed The Rock Opera, because it's leader was named Tommy.
Of the five major real progressive teams I interacted with, none of them failed.
I went inactive in the late 90's, so there could be more modern stories I'm not privy to.

A lot had problems with cheating. And also let's just say I heard some stories about certain "team busting" situations set up by certain casinos, which I'm not at liberty to talk about. There's a lot of stuff that happens that doesn't make the light of day, for various reasons. But hey, as they say, out of sight, out of mind, nobody seen nuthin', lol.

You are correct. I wasn't clear. I used to think this. I now realize I was wrong to think this when I did.
I haven't been of that mind for many years.

[vpFREE] famous poker pros who bust out that Frank's never heard of
Here's a famous pro that I guess Frank wouldn't consider a true pro: Archie Karas, he ran a $50 bankroll up to 40 million ("The Run") and then lost it all:

Who cares about the contest - let's just tell some gambling jokes.
What's the difference between someone praying in church and someone praying while their gambling?
The gambler really means it.

You've lived a very sheltered life, Frank, if you've never met a bustout.
Bustouts are a dime a dozen in gambling. That's why the joke is so funny in
my circle of friends. So you've never met the likes of Cincinnati Jack, or
Short Stack Jack, or Jesus Ray, or Downtown Ray, or Nick The Sick? Or
anyone else like them? They're a dime a dozen. It must be nice up there in
that white collar world, Frank. >>
There are wise pros who protect their bankroll by not playing above it.
These pros can stick around indefinitely or as long as they want to.
There are unwise pros who play above their bankroll. They have shorter
careers.
I've know both kinds. Both can be just as knowledgeable about the game(s)
they play. But some people just don't have the self-discipline it takes for
bankroll management, one of the most important basics for successful
LONG-TERM gambling.

007, huh? Trying to bait me into putting in a personal appearance, Frank? Catch me when I'm drunk, you might get somewhere. Hey, what was the name of that book of yours "The Secret World?" The only reason you are out of the closet is because you no longer have a back trail to protect. I do. But you WERE covert for a long long time. And not only that, but how 'bout knockin' off the goodie two shoes psychobabble about how you love helping the world, especially disadvantaged aborigines. Get back to telling juicy stories, like in your book, about how you used to get other pros thrown out of casinos to monopolize plays. Out to help the world, are you? Hell of a way to show it.
