Huh?--much of it posted at 70? Less than 15% is, and that doesn't include the trip up the hill and onto Lake Tahoe on the 50. There's really no rush on that 57 mile trip anyway, is there?

To my surprise, the alternate route via 431 and 28 through Incline Village adds only 4 miles and 10 minutes. It's much more scenic. Just make sure it's a clear day.

[vpFREE] Re: Ellis mailer
I wish they would call me..... LOL
My brother-in-law got his Ellis mailer today. He hasn't played at EI for over a year. They have made a significant change in format but almost no change in content. He still gets $5 freeplay but got added $4 free food for earning 150 base points.
At least we now know that some EI mailers are coming.....eventually!

It's 57.7 miles from downtown to Harrah's LT via 395, much of it posted at 70. Beware that middle section which drops down to 50. Even so, my GPS show 1 hr 15 minutes if you follow all speed limits, which few do. So a little over an hour with no traffic or weather is reasonable.

[vpFREE] Surgery, Signature Event etc.
Hi Gang:
It feels really odd to be home on a weekend instead of being at our usual
haunt ... Harrah's in Atlantic City ... but Hedy had a surgical procedure
done this morning and we will be home for a few days while she recuperates.
Thanks, BTW, to everyone who sent along their best wishes and prayers via
email or on Facebook. It is much appreciated. The doctor said everything
went perfectly and she's doing really well.
--- Details are now available for the Seven Stars Signature Event in Las
Vegas Sept. 21-23.
It will feature a Don Henley concert at Planet Hollywood, an American BBQ
at Caesars Palace Garden of the Gods, a welcome reception featuring
champagne and chocolates at Paris, a choice of a spa treatment or round of golf at
Cascata or Rio Secco (with casino free play or shopping credit included) ,
a champagne brunch at the Flamingo pool and a behind-the-scenes tour for
either Habitat at Flamingo, Jubilee at Bally's or a Caesars Palace
Celebrity Restaurant Tour.
The announcement also made it clear that the spa treatment or golf (as well
as the casino play or shopping credit) would only be available to those
Seven Stars guests who "qualify." The first qualifying number was
1,000-1,499. I assume that has something to do with the player's ADT.
--- The Harrah's Great Race to Rewards will be much more difficult to
complete this year. Instead of just swiping at various Harrah's properties
around the country, players must accumulate 25 tier credits (or $250 through for
VP players) to get points for that property. The amount of comp dollars
earned also depends on the property ... 3 points for Vegas/Laughlin, 2 points
for Atlantic City etc. The Harrah's suits obviously got wise to how easy
it was to get $600 in free comp dollars under last year's rules.
--- Not much to report gambling-wise for our last few trips, which
included one substantial loss, two smaller losses and a break-even weekend. When
the royals aren't rolling in things can get a bit dicey, as we all know.
We're still substantially ahead for the year, however. Hopefully the pendulum
will swing back in our direction soon.
Regards,
CoachVee & Hedy

Re: [vpFREE] Hard Rock Hotel Mailers
Clearly the new HRH gang not the best nor brightest.
Weekly CA mailers pretty dumb (though I liked it).
Quarterly mailers equally dumb.
Maybe Goldilocks will one day tire of scalding and cold porridge and come around to the industry standard monthlies.
At least the Hard Rock hasn't disintegrated like the one-great Palms.
As yet.

[vpFREE] LVA Question of the Day - 6 JUL 2012
LVA Question of the Day - 6 JUL 2012
Q: This week the Hard Rock in Tampa announced that it's
become the sixth-largest casino in the world. Their unit of
measure is the number of "seats" for slot players and at the
tables. Is this a valid measurement or hype? Just how many
units of measure are there anyway?
