RE: [vpFREE] Re: An AP question

I got away with pulling my Rockstar card at the Hard Rock for years while playing fullpay Video Poker and got away with murder. I'm still a very small player, but they had me pegged for losing 5 thousand per trip. I was treated very well before they changed systems a few years ago.

now a way that is being used to prevent your wins from being hidden by the card
pull. I discovered this on one of the Norwegian cruise ships. As long as there
are credits left in the machine, pulling the card does not matter. All plays,
wins, and losses will continue to accrue to the person whose card was last in
the machine. So pulling a card with trip Aces won't have any effect- you might
as well leave it in. Only cashing out the machine will stop their following of
your play, and you can't do that in the middle of a hand.

all of them.

The card readers at the Rampart Casino in Las Vegas act just the way you described it. If you remove your card while there are still credits on the machine, the card reader says "Carded Session in Progress". The Palms also used this system for a few years, but I'm not sure if they still do. There are probably other casinos doing it also.

[vpFREE] Re: How Many Jackpots in an Hour on same machine

After Barona in So. Cal. first opened their new casino about 10 years
ago I played every weekend. The first year I had over 50 royals and
thought this was the place to come to get your money when you ran
short. Playing $2 9/6 early, early in a.m. when I drew two to hit
royal in hearts. Amanda came over and took picture, attendants did
paper work, unlocked the machine and went to get my $8000. Third hand
after they left I drew one to complete royal......in hearts. When
they came back with money they looked at screen and asked why I
hadn't played it off. I'm thinking they're gonna try to say this was
the royal they were now paying off when Amanda brings me the photo in
the little booklet they give jackpot winners. While explaining this
was a second royal in same suit I showed the picture which showed the
cards in different order. They went back to get the second $8000. and
Amanda got her very first $100. tip.
I had many more two in a day at Barona but not on same machine
(unless you count dealt royal on multi line). On a side note, took a
long time to pay off back taxes I didn't declare that year.

[vpFREE] Re: In what Atlantic City casinos can I find full pay machines?

I'm also new to VP. I live in Long Island so similar distance to AC and Foxwoods/Mohegan Sun. Looks like 9/6 JoB is one of the highest paying popular games in the area.

Is there any way that rewards can make this over 100%? What are the rewards like, especially for non-regulars?

Also a casino recently opened up at the Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens:

http://www.rwnewyork.com/

Any idea on the games and rewards there?

Thanks,

-Tom

Thanks for the reply (which I abbreviated ... I'll let those interested refer back into the thread for the full context).

I'll try not too excessively dissect here, but if I understand correctly, you're giving 5% of daily $30K coin-in on these slots in order to improve your "survivability".

In the specific case where your host alerted you to the possibility of being cut from promotions without adding some slot play, there's little question the move was advisable. But I'd be loathe to adopt the strategy as a general precaution.

If you're going to add some slot play to your mix, certainly "off strip" LV is a reasonable venue in which to do it. And I'll credit your choice has being likely to have an ER of 95%. Still, that's a daily EV cost of $75, which is a .25% ER handicap against your $30K coin-in.

Your earlier estimate of this being a 20% EV cut would mean that you estimate your daily vp EV at $425. Were it that high, then everything appears quite rational. But, (again, reading between the lines), I would estimate your daily FP at $200-$250, and your overall vp ER (with points) at no higher than 100.2% (before factoring FP), or an additional EV of $60. On a combined EV of, say, $300, you're giving up 25% of your vp EV to slot play.

The numbers still look good, given your strong 1% ER vp advantage (though I'd deem the slot cost "of consequence"). For someone playing on a slimmer advantage, (say, even a cut to .75% ER), I'd deem the cost excessive and inadvisable except in reaction to a clear threat to offers.

Bottom line, I'm saying that while the slot play is clearly a smart move for you, I personally would be hesitant to suggest that others consider such a shift under general circumstances as a "survival" move. It's simply an expensive prospect.

(Should be clear, though, that I consider it fertile "food for thought" ... Thanks!)

[vpFREE] Re: How Many Jackpots in an Hour on same machine

We've been fortunate to have had several multi Royal sessions on one
machine -including 2 royals within five minutes playing $JOB at NYNY, 3 Royals
on Caesar's 3P JOB STP (I Ioved those machines!!), 2 50 cent Royals on SA in
10 min (both times holding AJ) at the Carson Nugget just last month.

Then there was the time hubby and I were playing side by side at Harrah's
in New Orleans. He was playing 3P JOB STP, held JK and drew a royal for
$1000. Ten minutes later he held JA and drew a Royal for $5000 (w/ 5X
multiplier). Meanwhile next door I hit a Royal on the 4X line of JOB MS for
$4000. That 3 day trip produced 6 Royals--by far our best NO trip.

But my favorite memory is the time my daughter and I each got DEALT a Royal
on the same machine about an hour apart. This was in Blackhawk, CO when
the Ameristar was still Mountain High. We were playing 50 cent NSUD back
in the good old days :)

Enough hands over enough years definitely produces some bizarre results
which I am sure most of you can attest to.

In 1990 I learned to deal blackjack, and my first job was a few months at the Western. Their $1 tables provided my archetypical Vegas experience: dealing to people who still had band-aids on their arms from the plasma they donated for gambling money.

[vpFREE] Re: 2012 American Casino Guide Book Offer

And as a usual note to this, Amazon.com is offering the book for $12.89, with free 2nd day air shipping for Prime members or free ground shipping if you spend $25 (2+ books). With discount and shipping, Scot's link appears to only be cheaper if purchasing at least 8 copies.

Of course, it's not yet available there, so if you need it NOW, Scot's link is obviously the place to get it.
