Re: [vpFREE] Dream Card

Good luck getting an answer. All Deuces Wild games I've checked list 58% as the Dream Card frequency. The 59% might just be a typo in the article but he did the calculation using 58%. Anyone know for sure? I've asked the same question here and on the Wizard's site with no reply. I understand he has sold the site so I guess he is no longer overly concerned with the accuracy of it's content. Perhaps I'm being cynical, but as a businessman I'm assuming he hopes the site dies so he can recreate it under another name with accurate up to date information when the non-compete period has expired. Bob still occasionally has him on his internet show, maybe he can ask him this Deuces Wild Dream Card question next appearance.

[vpFREE] Re: XVP: Virginia Street Bridge Being Demolished

The divorcees at Reno had to do 3 months reisidency there to become a Nevada resident in order to get the quickie divorce. The hotel called the El Cortez, 232 w. Main street was built in the 1930's secifically to house the divorcee's. By thelate 1990's the lplace was called the Hustler's Hilton by casino hustlers who stayed there Long after I had checked into the Hustler's Hilton (Ek Cortez) in a phone conversation with my poor old mother who is 80 years old and in assisted l in Juneau , Alasa that when she went to Reno in 1959 to divorce my father she stayed at the El Cortez Motel. Whether she threw her ring in the river or not is a question I've never asked her. Perhaps I will in the next conversation.

Re: [vpFREE] Nevada State Residence & Tax advisor

Interesting tax question. If you have two or more homes what determines what state you are a resident. Time in the state or where you vote or have your drivers license?

We have homes in 3 states, two in no state income tax states (Florida and Las Vegas). Before retirement, my job was in the 3rd high state income tax state. We now travel most of the year and intend to sell in the next few years our current home residence. So anyone have any good Las Vegas area tax advisors to assist us changing our state residence now since we already spend less than 6 months in the income tax state? [vpFREE] XVP: Virginia Street Bridge Being Demolished

The historic bridge made famous in the movie The Misfits is coming down. What is interesting is its still being debated whether divorcee's really threw their rings off that bridge. The story around Reno was the late Hans "Tuna" Lund bankrolled an operation to retreive rings from the river. The legend was they filled 2 coffee cans full of rings. True or not I dont but there is an article from the Milwaukee Journal dated 1977 about Darrell Garmann who spent 2 years dredging the river around the bridge. He found 300 rings the most expensive being appraised at $1200 at the time. He also found coins with a face value totalling $1200 and the rarest of them appraised at $800 at the time.

Google Reno River Yields Divorce Rings. This should put an end to whether it was a myth or not.

Re: [vpFREE] More Changes at the D Casino

THIS is the definition of "tragedy."  Las Vegas, as a city, is weakened.  Humanity, in its entirety, suffers.  My tears will provide a patina of surface rust to the Simga Derby machine.

Thanks for the update.

"You can choose any personalized combination that is not offensive or in bad taste, has not already been issued to someone else and does not conflict with any standard-issue Nevada numbering system."

So unless this plate predates the rule and was grandfathered in or something... or maybe the owner knows someone at the DMV.

CA has a similar rule.

[vpFREE] Re: Was -- Re: The Dice Challenge Now: Double Up

Barry, not sure where the nasty reply came from. I started my post by complimenting your post, saying that you nailed the essence of the dice challenge problem. When I wrote "Unless you are one of those people who believes that when you hit the keys actually changes your expected results", that wasn't directed to Barry, it was directed to the group so as to eliminate that particular element from the dice challenge. I would not have complimented your post and then criticize you in the same paragraph.

Lesson learned, Barry. I will try my best not to compliment your posts in the future.

Just curious... do you know?  Can a specific license plate in standard format be requested that is not subject to an additional charge, or would a requested specific number and letters, even in the "typical" format, be charged extra the same as a "vanity" plate?
--BG=================

1. An Advantage License Plate

Nevada is a state where the typical license plate number is
in the format 123 ABC. Vanity plates are available --- subject to certain
limits --- for an additional charge.

Last night, in a casino parking lot, I saw the license plate
728 NSU.
...
Getting a vanity plate without paying for it strikes me as
an advantage play. Well done!
