No. This thread confused playing conditions in LV and AC.

[vpFREE] Re: Odyssey VP video
The speed and ergonomics of the Odysseys made it almost 'mandatory' to play two machines at the same time.
Loved the western theme music and the trivia questions while waiting for a fill or handpay.

[vpFREE] Re: Odyssey VP video
Don't forget to mention Sam's Town. There were 8 or 15 (4 or 5 back to back) and on our trip to LV from NH, we played them as long as we could stand it for 3-4 days. Ended up with 2 royals and numbers of deuces I can't count. Each set of ducks and royals were hand pays so that slowed things down. Sma's lost their shirt on these machines I heard.
And then, around 1999 or so, the Nevada Palace next to Sam's Town got 2 of them but not with deuces. 9/6 JOB was the game and you could rattle off comps and cash back very easily in that low rolling joint. (Their restaurant had great meals.) My wife got her first royal there in June 2000. And you got entries in their annual November classic car drawings. I always wondered how I'd drive a '57 Chevy back to NH if I won it.
Those really were the days.

These machines were installed at least at the Fiesta and Arizona Charlie's (original locations). Since multi-line machines reduce volatility for the same total amount bet (e. g., quarter on 4 line vs. dollar single play), quarter players flocked to the the quarter machines due to reduced risk.

The promotion was .2% CB to be received in the first five days of January for all the points you ran in December. I intended to only playe the 3X days to get .6%. But a funny thing happened while I was there. The bulk of the machines were near the sports book. But there were two machines right next to that Panda fast food joint. They were stuck on 2X points so I played straight through. And on 3X days I was getting 6X. Believe it or not, out of all the players who worked that promotion, I was the only one who discovered it. I had no problem getting those machines. I pretty much lived in the Fiesta hotel that December.

I looked to my right to see the Odyssey's, 8 on one side, 8 on the other. On the side I could see, 4 players had 8 machines locked up. I walked to the other side, 4 players had 8 machines locked up. Looks like I'm late to the party I thought. I had my own gig at the Fiesta and left them alone.

> There was no way IGT could do that. 4-play was a late arrival to the Silicon ballgame. The early games were video slots like Fort Knox, Lady of Fortune, Buccaneer Gold, Riddle of the Sphinx (all advantage slot games), Krazy Keno, and single line video poker games like Jacks or Better Bonus Playoff and Deuces Wild Bonus Playoff. All Silicon had to do was pull the 4-play and put the other games back on.

Silicon lost money every year they were in operation. In October 2000 Silicon was in talks with IGT. In December 2000 they agreed to merge. In March 2001 IGT announced the merger was complete.
