[vpFREE] Hyakumi/Nobu at Caesars Palace Vegas

HYakumi is now closed. Seems odd they didn't close it the minute Nobu opened. No sense for two Japanese restaurants.

Better get a reservation if u want to eat at Nobu. I ate there tonight, 5 pm when it opened on a Thursday. I was by myself and wanted a table, but even though I am 7 stars and the restaurant was pretty much empty, they claimed all the tables were booked and I must eat at the sushi bar or in the lounge. Well I guess they don't realize a single person can eat in 1 hr, because at 6 when I left, over half the restaurant was still empty, I counted at least 30 empty tables. I asked and they said they must hold tables for reservations and they expect it to take 2 hrs to eat.... So apparently all those tables were to be filled by 6:30???? Don't know, but it was kind of annoying.

The sushi at NOBU was excellent, first rate. Only problem was it was really overpriced. Normally you can get two pieces of salmon for $7-8. (nigeri, with the rice) But here it is $7 for one piece. I had the miso soup with lobster for $20 too. Don't bother, it was ordinary miso with a small piece of lobster tossed in. Sushi rolls looked small from what I could see. Also $4 for my small soda, or maybe it was $2 and $2 for a refill? Thankfully they do accept reward points, cause $137 for one person's meal seemed a TAD high. (no booze). But the sushi was super fresh and delicious. But I think I would have paid about half as much at Hyakumi.....

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Phil Ivey Accused of Baccarat Scheme

Edge sorting isn't cheating. Casinos fault for reusing cards, letting players handle cards, and ever so stupid for not taking the three seconds to put s turn in the shuffle, which eliminates the possibility of sorting. I hope they have to pay more than the 12 mill for slandering and false accusations as well. That's like calling a card counter a cheater.

Just shows you can get bad information from casino employees. Yes, $1200 is a federal IRS rule.

Yes, I confirmed that Cincinnati is 2.1% and Ohio is 4%. I was told the amount to trigger a W2G in Ohio is $1250, not $1200 by a Horseshoe Cincinnati slot tech. I thought $1200 was a federal thing, is that right?

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Ohio gambling tax considerations

Thanx for all the input on this subject. I am still looking for more information from those who have personal experience in the 4 Ohio casinos. You can send it to me privately if you wish.

Once I feel I have a complete grasp of the whole picture – for residents and non-residents – I will summarize my findings on my blog.

The Creeks, huh? There's not a finer outfit I'd like to fleece. If they ever move to Class III I think I'll come calling. Of course, if I don't find anything to play I'll have to take a walk. But if I find any leaks in their boat I'll sink 'em. I'll hammer them right to their knees.

During the War of 1812 the British and Spanish armed the Creeks through the Port of Pensacola. In the summer of 1813 strong rumors of an impending Indian attack were floating around southwestern Alabama. The settlers, afraid for their lives, poured into Fort Mims for protection. The problem with the fort is it was poorly defended. The commanding officer, Major Daniel Beasley, was a bonehead who discounted not only the rumors but several sightings of "painted warriors" in the area. The door to the fort hadn't been closed for so long that drifting sands prevented it's closing.

On the 30th of August 1813, 1000 Creek Warriors from the Red Stick faction came calling. The ensuing slaughter is recorded as the biggest massacre in the history of the United States. Of the 550 people inside the fort, only 36 survived. One of the women killed inside that fort that day, Penelope Farr Depriest, is one of my 4th great-grandmothers.

Re: [vpFREE] Wynn/Encore

According to videopoker.com ( game finder API ) , wynn and encore both have
it . The last time I was there, did not see any ultimate-X over 98 %, so for
me they were unplayable. I think they may have 8/5 jacks at the $1 level as
best ? For sure , plenty of ult-x wongers hanging out there.

I don't play Ultimate X but I have an out-of-town friend (not an advantage
player) who likes the game. He wants to know if there are any of these
machines at Wynn/Encore and if so, in what denominations and what are the
best paytables offered. Would appreciate any information since vpFREE doesn't
seem to list these – probably because of low-pay schedules? Is there any
place online that does list where Ultimate X games are located in Vegas?

You can e-mail me privately if you wish.
