RE: [vpFREE] WMS Video Poker

There is a 4-color option. Actually there are two of them. One has "flat" two-dimensional colors. One has pseudo-three-dimensional colors sort of like gemstones of four different colors. At least that was what was available at the G2E show. It's possible that changes are made between what is displayed at the show and what actually appears in the casino. Bob

RE: [vpFREE] Re: Coast Group

I got this from one of the marketing directors:

"The only customers who received a "multi-property" mailer are the ones that
play at various properties. Customers who only play at one get only a mailer
from that property. It's been a confusing process on our end as well with
this new format."

My wife received two separate B Connected mailers. One contained free play
and food for Gold Coast and the other contained free play and food for
Orleans. They were for the same amounts that she had been receiving in the
individual casino mailers up until now.

My first joint mailer was for $50 a week. We haven't received one for Shirley yet. It may still be coming. Don't know If the marketing director at one of the four casinos has the power to kabosh your mail from the "group" --- this potentially affects a large number of players --- because each one has different standards of how much a player is allowed to win there before getting the kabosh. Getting reinstated is potentially more difficult --- especially if it's tough to figure out which of the four casinos did the kaboshing.

[vpFREE] XVP: Casino cash during the storm?

As we helplessly watch Sandy aim for our children and grandchildren, my husband and I are distracting ourselves with somewhat pointless debates.

Seeing the condition of Atlantic City, we are wondering about cash management in the casinos, when they close down and evacuate. He is of the opinion that their vaults are waterproof, and they leave the cash on site.

Personally, I presume more greed. I envision that they make a clean sweep and even a "coin drop" throughout the casino, and move as much as possible off site. Of course, a convoy of Brinks trucks leaving the city would certainly attract attention......

Does anyone know how this actually works?

We're keeping our east coast friends in our thoughts, and feeling grateful that we've moved away from the hurricane zone. Best of luck to all in the storm path!

Nita

actually, maybe they do have an option for it. i just watched the
Winning Streak video again, and at 0:35 the player is dealt a royal
flush in clubs, and those clubs are distinctly purple. i hope that's
to differentiate them from black spades, and it isn't just a pastel
two-color theme :)

RE: [vpFREE] WMS Video Poker

WMS used to have an online focus group for new games including vp that I was
part of.

ACBL bridge tournaments use four color designation for bidding boxes only.
(I played in a regional yesterday.)

The World Poker Tour TV broadcasts display the cards in 4 colors but
reverses clubs and spades compared to the bridge bidding boxes.

I liked the old WMS Video Poker games. (If you have Frugal Video Poker, a
base game that was included in that product is Multi-Pay Poker which was
their signature game.)

I absolutely love the 4 color idea! No excuses to mistake a suited versus
non-suited card combo!

i really wonder why, if they're going to offer all these customization
options, they don't have one for a four-color deck. i first used them
playing in bridge tournaments, and many people are used to them from
online poker. blue diamonds and green clubs make for a lot less

obviously you can't make them standard, newbies and traditionalists
would scream; but if you have 20 other options for card design and
background color and fluttering cards to celebrate wins, why not offer
this one simple and practical option as well?

(if anyone knows a good contact at WMS to make this suggestion, let me
know. thanks.)

cheers,

Either I misread my online offers before or the offers have been
deleted as HF's have. The situation is not headed in a direction
that I care to go :-(.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Coast Group

Good points. That's what happened to some of us when Stations merged their properties onto the same card. I went from being no mailed at Wildfire properties to also being no mailed at Stations and Fiestas. And when you ask boothlings or hosts, nobody knows nothing.

[vpFREE] LVA Question of the Day - 29 OCT 2012

LVA Question of the Day - 29 OCT 2012

Q: As I was getting ready for another trip to Las Vegas in a
few weeks, I was sorting through my collection of slot cards
and noticed several (Palms and Bill's, specifically) that
had expiration dates printed on them. My question is why?
They don't clear your info off the computer after a long
absence. It would seem it would cost more in staff time to
make new cards for infrequent vistors. I am only able to go
to LV about once every 12-18 months. What is their
reasoning?
