[vpFREE] Old Points at Silverton

Several booth attendants at the Silverton say they HAVE HEARD that the exchange rate for old points for gift cards will be reduced by 50% on October 17, meaning instead of 1000 points per dollar of gift card it will take 2000 points. They will all expire in December of this year, but if you keep them more than another week, the value of your points will be cut in half --- at least for some uses. Nobody knows for sure whether all of the gift cards will be affected or not. As of tonight they are out of Southwest Airlines cards. I'm accepting this rumor as accurate and will be selling all of my points this week --- probably on Bass Pro Shop cards. It's possible this rumor will turn out to be false. I can't accurately assess the odds on this. I would prefer to cash my points for SWA gift cards or Starbucks gift cards, but those are limited to $500 per month, and I've already collected my October allotment. Spending the rest of my points this week at 1-for-1 on lesser gift cards is a better deal than spending my points for the better gift cards at a 2-for-1 rate in another week. I suspect many people will want clarification on this. So do I! But at this moment better information is not readily available, even from Silverton Rewards supervisors. And it wouldn't surprise me that they will run out of several types of cards as many of us cash in whatever balances we have. So cashing your points on Monday is definitely a smarter play than planning on cashing them next Sunday. Bob

Oh, so you would switch back to regular basic strategy if you had a 10x multiplier on the first 3 lines (with no free ride)???? That makes sense!!!!!

[vpFREE] Re: Caesar's Birthday Offer

"...I just got $200 in free play from Dover Downs in
Delaware, and I play not nearly the amount there that I do at Caesars casinos..."

Dover Downs?
According to a casino guide website:
"...By law, all video lottery games must return between 87% and 95% of all wagers on an annual basis. Games can return above 95% but only with the Lottery Director's approval..."

(The article also noted DD now has tables and an iteration of sports betting and hotel rooms so the joint is a full casino with horsies too boot.)

As far as VP, the 95% top EV requirement would make the best game (without Lottery approval), 5/5 JB:-) What do you play with a $200 offer at a joint like that? Can you use at the horsies?

There are no DE casinos in the VPFREE2 database. Maybe DD should be added and ranked as the #1 casino in Deleware. For some reason, I have a feeling that the Deleware model will be used here in Mass when our 3 "full resort-style gaming complexes" are built.
Break a leg.

When's the last time one of your friends told you to go out and buy a birthday present from him/her, but spend your own money -- then, maybe they'll gift wrap it for you at their expense. If I qualified for the entire amount, Caesars gets $25,000-$50,000 of my money (minus whatever I might win), and I get $50 in comps in return? This is no gift, in my opinion. There is some info on this casino on their website and casinocity.com.
It says they only have 500 gaming machines and the casino is inside
the Hilton Lac Leamy hotel.

[vpFREE] Re: Caesar's Birthday Offer

The offer is what it is ... a modest gimme (which is nothing to write home about, but definitely better than a kick in the pants).

I value the $50 comp. As far as the tier points, most years the increment is of no added value for me. However, last year, it was a timely bump over the 125K Signature Experience threshold permitting me to book within the timeframe I was looking for.

[vpFREE] Re: Caesar's Birthday Offer

I had the offer for Sept.-Nov. Earned 5023 tier points on 9/23.
Went to total rewards 9/24 am. Tier points went from 106000 to 111600 that evening. This was at Showboat.

I got the same offer. Doesn't do me much good since I'm already close to 125,000 tier, and there is nothing much beyond that unless you REALLY play a lot.
