[vpFREE] Re: IGT Video Blackjack Scam?
Don't know much about IGT blackjack but remember the piggy bankin as well as the cherry pie and several other wongable slot machines. Started and ended most VP sessions with a tour of the casino for opps.
I remember Eliot Shapiro showing me a bank of blazing 7's to keep my eye on. How you could look down into some slot machines and read the counters.
Back in the day.

Most of the IGT multigames have video BJ as one of the options, the bad version of course that pays even money for a blackjack. When I am playing VP on one, there is usually a constant stream of Asians passing by checking the last hand of BJ played on every open machine in the bank. Only occasionally will they select a machine based on their examination and play a single hand before cashing out and moving on. Since the cards are shuffled every round, I can't see what advantage they seem to be looking for. They are usually kind of shabbily dressed and have that exhausted look like they are on a never ending mission. It kind of reminds me of the slot huslers back in the late 90's that walked around Las Vegas pushing the button on Piggy Bankin slots looking for a ripe jackpot. Am I missing something or is it just Asian superstition in action?

Bob,
Ahhh ok, I see what you're saying now with the 0.5%. Thanks for taking the time to explain....I'm still new at all this.
Any clues on the SD for each STP game? The math involved on wizardofodds for multi-line alone has already tested my fading math skills.
Thanks!

In both games, these are typical (though not universal) increases. The wizardofodds.com citation in the original post gives the returns for all pay schedules for both games. Bob

Thanks for the information - too bad us non-locals were not informed of this change. An email or heads up from our host sure would have been appreciated. Oh well....time to move on. They also cut way back on the "free play" offers - which used to get us to visit there! I think they are trying to tell us something..............

Yes, you can use new points (earned 4/1/11 or later) for gift cards, but as of tomorrow 10/17, they will cost 667 points per dollar. Too bad because they offer some good cards - Southwest Airlines, Starbucks, Bass Pro Shops and several restaurants like Outback and Red Lobster.
You can also redeem new points for free play and food. 333 points = $1. They don't have any cashback.

I would like to give a thumbs up to Sam's Town. Recently,it decided to pull a good promotion. Although disappointing, it states in the fine print of most any casino promo that managagement reserves the right to change- anything!
In the Sam's Town instance, prominent signs were posted at the entrances and at the players club. These were posted far enough in advance for me to change my plans.

I wanted to know the answer to this, but when I click on the link, all I get is the Oct 16 question & answer; I have to have some premium membership to go back and read yesterdays q&a. For anyone with access, what was the answer? I have a lot of miscellaneous chips myself.

[vpFREE] Re: Need help finding video poker software
Bob,
Thanks for info. Sad to hear about Mike. Hopefully someone (Ernie) still
has access to the source code? I am sure that someone in the future will
be able to update it when the time/money is right.
My understanding is that the expected return on the normal Super Times
Pay is plus .5 as you mentioned. So 9/6 JoB would be 0.998204 however
Double Super Times Pay is 100.05%.
<http://wizardofodds.com/videopoker/tables/double-super-times-pay.html>
)
As Rick wrote, I too understand that the strategy does not change but
what's not clear to me is the standard deviation number for STP or DSTP.
I understand stand normal 9/6 Jacks or Better to have a SD of 4.43.
The same link above sheds some light...it states:Volatility- Based on
the actual multiplier probabilities, the Super Times Pay feature
increases the standard deviation by 51%, compared to not paying for it.
Can someone translate that for me into an actual number?
Even then it's only for STP and I would still like to know what the SD
for DSTP is. This is ideally why i was looking for software so that i
could just run a bunch of simulations so I knew how much bankroll was
necessary but just know the proper SD would help a bunch.
Thanks everyone!!

that I'd like to see on a new version of Video Poker for Winners.
Unfortunately Mike Wood --- the mathematician behind VPW --- passed away
not so long ago. He was one of Ernie Moody's best friends. Ernie (the
financial backer behind the software) hasn't felt inclined to go ahead
with another version. Insofar as Double Super Times Pay specifically,
the game can be analyzed completely by treating it as regular
5-coin-per-line game and adding a half-percent to the return. None of
the plays change when you go from regular pay schedules to DSTP pay
schedules. Bob> > > .> > > > [Non-text portions of this message have
