Thanks, it was a shorter pay aces and eights game. So it should end up about the same as a 7/5 bonus game and better than a 8/5 jacks. Not great

The "video guy" scolded me about booze. Any discussion of "illicit" drugs not tolerated back-in-the-day.

Harvey's used to have, and may still have, for all I know, the policy
that players may play as many machines as they could actively play,
which led to some anger from people who disagreed, including towards
me when I took advantage of it on full banks of progressives. I
recently saw someone playing 4 machines at the Bellagio. I asked if
I'd be given one if I asked and I was told I wouldn't.

"And btw, in this last year alone I have seen three pairs of guys at three different casinos almost come to blows over the two machines at a time thing"
It's been a very long time since I've been anywhere near quarter FPDW, so I'll have to take your word for it. I can only comment on my experiences 7 or 8 years ago, and at that time, I only knew one guy that wouldn't give up a machine if asked. Other than that guy, I had never seen an argument, just one guy asking to play and the other one saying, "sure." Personally, the most heated argument I've ever seen over two-machine play was over two video craps terminals, and the only person yelling in that argument was the guy not playing. They guy that was playing two was more than happy to give one up, but apparently that wasn't good enough for the other guy.
>>And no doubt, some have beat the house handily over time at various VP games. But they didn't do it playing that fast and in that manner (two machines) playing FPDW
I know of several that did just that. Again that was years ago when full points, better mailers, drawings, etc...made it easier. You'd be surprised how quickly you can build your bankroll if you have the drive to bang away 8-12 hours a day, every day. It also helped that back then that much play even on quarter deuces could get you a room to live in at places like Fiesta Rancho. So between working so much that you didn't have time to spend your money, and free room and board if you chose to go that route, you could grow a decent bankroll at $25-$30/hour. Then if you had the drive and risk tolerance to work that hard at the better plays that became available as your bankroll grew, you could build a pretty significant bankroll.
>>Even "intelligent" players can easily give up any advantage trying to play too fast. IMHO
I absolutely agree. But that being said, everybody's "too fast" is different. For one guy it might be 400 hph, for another it might be over 2000. Neither one should assume their limit applies to anyone but themselves.

Noticed that August mailer is reduced. Free play is down to $50 from previous $75 .And no mention of alpha coupon book which we always received. Anyone else have this happen to them?

"but had "gone" because they built their bankrolls to the point that quarter FPDW was no longer worth their time. "

How much would a 50,000 coin sequential royal add to a 97.5% game ?

That's very true, but in the video guy's case it's not happening. He's the only person I've ever met that has never even had a single alcoholic drink in his life. He's also never tried any illicit drugs. He's obviously had drugs like caffeine, NSAIDs, etc...

Gamblers can be intelligent and tweaking at least initially. As the tweaking increases the intelligence decreases.

A Las Vegas Boyd employee told us that there are some Las Vegas
players with the Onyx card.
The invitaion only card at the Palms is the Legend card. According to
the employee we asked, they are still giving them out.
