I want to recommend a couple of things at LVH (formerly called the Las
Vegas Hilton). We just attended a performance of Nunsense (4 pm) and Rat Pack
(8:15 pm) in Shimmer showroom. Both very good shows. Sadly, due to the
bad economy and loss of so much convention business, the LVH doesn't get a
lot of business, and both shows poorly attended. But they were worth
seeing, especially the Rat Pack.
Liza Minilli is coming to LVH soon in the big showroom, and so is
Abracadabra (I think that is there name), the Abba tribute group. Both excellent
shows, and I've seen them both and can say they are very good. Check
Ticketron or LVH website for details.
For Nunsense and Rat Pack, check for discounted tickets in magazines or at
the half-price booth.
LVH has an excellent buffet and I believe it is 7.77 for locals on Mon. and
Wed. nights. Unlimited beer and wine too. Benihana's is also very good,
and always busy. Portions are quite large. The half-price booths have
25% off at Benihana's I believe. Locals signing up for a card get 25% off
any restaurant at any time.
Offers are excellent for play if you have an out of town address. Locals
tend to get smaller, weekly offers. They have NSU in $1 and .25 cent
single line at the progressive in the sports book. The progressive is on the
DDB only (8/5 DDB), but it sometimes gets quite high both in quarters and
dollars. There is another progressive along the wall there that sometimes is
high. I believe the Loose Deuces is also a good paytable. There are also
some 9/6 machines.
The sports book is great if you bet the sports. The only drawback with
playing near the sports book is sometimes the area is dirty and noisy. I
would avoid play there Sat. and Sunday if possible, though I can normally tune
it all out myself.
If you do get on the mailing list you get a lot of invites to tournaments
which are pretty good, not a huge amount of people playing, free shows, free
play, etc. Sometimes offers include RFB which can vary by play level to
different types of restaurants.
It is a shame that LVH has lost so much business, the people are very nice,
and really the offers have been excellent for us with minimal play, once
we had a big play day that got us on the list.

those machines. Took what came out of there, it went on green, $500
table chips on black, $500 on red and let the wheel spin. Guaranteed
$500 cash for $400.

Re: [vpFREE] Junkets
If you are going in July or later Southwest may have their June Anniversary sale which last year the most expensive one way airfare was I think $120.00 + taxes... Surprisingly Terribles rooms were not bad and the action required was allot less then the strip for a room... Richard from Ca.

Are there any junkets to Las Vegas from the Northeast ? What about using a travel agent? I am trying to find the cheapest way to make my maiden voyage.

The good news is that there are a whole lot of places you can stay for cheap, cheap, cheap. And all the cheap places will give you free future rooms for minimal play.
Anyplace downtown except the Nugget, Terrible's, Hilton, Sam's Town, Cannery and the Coast casinos would be my choices for you. Beware of Resort Fees at the Station casinos.

casino any day to free play. The current Total Rewards VP rate is 0.1% as comps. Are you saying the new free play rate will be 0.05% or 0.2%?
Sadly – .05%
Actually the comp rate has varied in the past. Many restaurants were on the 2:1 ratio – .05%!!!!!

RE: [vpFREE] Station Casinos Shuttle
No.Palace Station runs a shuttle to Fashion Place Mall but that is about it.
Is there any kind of shuttle among the Station Casinos ? I want to be able
to travel from station casino to station casino. I would rather not have to
rent a car.

I'm not aware of this, but city buses can be an efficient, if time
consuming, way to get around.

[vpFREE] Re: Palms New Member promotion
All the promotions work on machines that have 9/6 Jacks or Better as the best game, they do not work on any machines that have NSUD. There are stickers on the machines that are not good for promotions ,close to the card reader, telling you that they are not good for promotions so you will be able to figure out which you can't do the 3x points promotion on.
You may be interested in going on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday which is usually the day that they give out gifts since they let you combine all their promotions.
As far as downloading the free play you can do it on any video poker machine, there are no restrictions on that.
