My recollection is that they were at the M Resort and were originally
something like 96% at reset and then they lowered them even further to
~94%.

If I'm remembering correctly, Dancer and Kneeland promoted those special GWAE progressives they set up at South Point, which of course didn't last long because they had an overlay at reset, which means the casino isn't going to be making money. In order for any progressive to last it of course has to have some edge for the casino.

One more thing. If Dancer is/does/has played progressives he has an incentive not to write about them. He would be giving away too much information to other pros of his caliber and could get knocked out of plays.

Bobbartop, I don't recall ever seeing much opportunity in progressives for a player with Bob Dancer bankroll and betting level. But if my brain is not tricking me I recall Dancer writing about a two-machine bartop bank of $5 8/5 Bonus Poker that was progressive at Sam's Town some years ago. And he would play it when the number got good enough. He could lock up both machines.

I assume for the same reason I normally don't. I don't play in a team and when a progressive gets in the money most times a group descends on it.

So waiting for an open machine if it ever comes is lost time where someone might hit and if you get a seat playing against a crew where the person next to you starts yammering on their cell or smoking in your face while everyone else gets rotated to stay fresh is a bit of a downer.

A good play to me is one that is not swarmed.

That said I believe he does play progressives, just not the same ones you or I look at.

Re: [vpFREE] 'Reward credit' multiplier days dont include VP or poker room

interesting.. so I need to goto the Rewards booth and talk to them about it?

would be SWEET if RC for playing 9/6 JoB got multiplied!

i was there when they opened up 6credit VP with bonus for quads.
I saw 8/5 JoB with 300 credits for quads for only 5 credits at .05 denom! 105%!!!!!!

that only lasted a couple of hrs :(
it's now 6credit 6/5 JoB with 500 credits for quads... 96.x% :(

I'm curious why Bob Dancer does not play progressives. Although I have never asked him, I have seen him say that he does not. If he gave a reason, I either don't remember what it was or did not see it. Does anyone know why he does not?

[vpFREE] Progressives

Hey everyone I love playing progressives on video poker!
I was wondering what all your favorites are?
I would have to say that I love the triple play progressives at Orleans the best.
I have to admit that this is where I've hit the most royals also and this definitely sways my opinion!
Just curious.
Chris

Re: [vpFREE] 'Reward credit' multiplier days dont include VP or poker room

At the Horseshoe Baltimore the policy (or implementation) on multipliers has been inconsistent. If you do get them, it may take 1 to 2 weeks for them to be added via a partially manual process.

I've been offered multiplier days at several times. For a couple of months, it was every Thursday. Of the four Thursdays I played one month, only the extra points for the second of these had showed up by the end of the month. After a visit to Total Rewards, one of the three missing multipliers was done. A second visit resulted in the others being applied. These were all for video poker play.

Nothing in the email offer or at the kiosk indicated that points earned from video poker play would not be multiplied. However, I have heard from others that from the opening of this casino they were not given multipliers for video poker play, though they did not believe that had been spelled out beforehand. Appeals proved fruitless.

My most recent multiplier offer was for July. There was fine print in the email saying that video poker play was not eligible for the multiplier. I swiped my card anyway, and in fact got the multiplier for my qualifying play that month, though I wasn't expecting it and would not have questioned it if I had not gotten it.

I have no experience with multipliers for points earned other than on video poker so can't speak to your other questions.

Subject: [vpFREE] 'Reward credit' multiplier days dont include VP or poker room

Horseshoe Baltimore has reward credit multiplier days every Mon in August.

I played both 9/6 JoB and a few hrs of poker in the poker room.
None of my rewards credit got multiplied. :(

do RC earned at the $10 blackjack table get multiplied?

[vpFREE] Re: Strategy cards

I haven't played the classic video poker games for almost 8 years but I still have Dancer and Paymar cards in my collection. Whenever I bought a Dancer card I cut off with scissors the beginner and intermediate strategies and went straight to the Expert Strategy. I don't have time for that beginner stuff. I never had a problem going straight to the expert strategy. And it made the strategy card not so wieldy to carry in my shirt pocket and refer to if I needed a memory jog.

That's correct. Give them some decent play and you can expect room offers and maybe some food and free play too. A host might add an extra day to the regular room offers, and pick up the resort fees too.
