So you and I apparently play at approximately the same level, based on the
fact that we have almost the same yearly W2-G average. Or you play higher
denoms for fewer hours each year.
I have never been harassed, attacked, or bothered in any way by casino
personnel. I was asked, politely, not to play at Ellis Island a few years back.
Not trespassed, just told that my slot club privileges were being revoked, and
that they were "refusing service" to me. Security was not involved, the GM
told me personally.
After your post, about six occasions of being mistreated in five years, no
one else chimed in with "Me too!" Or "Happens all the time to players I know."
Therefore, I conclude that there is something unique about YOU, which has
caused your troubles. I think it is reasonable to call what has happened to you
being "singled out," since these things do not happen nearly as often to
others. I asked why you think that is, and you basically said that the same thing
would happen to anyone playing at your skill and coin-in level. I suppose
it's possible it has just been "unlucky" random occurrences, but the argument
that anyone playing like you do would have the same things happen is clearly
specious. I personally know over a dozen skilled players who play at higher
levels than I do, and being backed off is not uncommon for them. But none have
reported the kind of mistreatment you have reported.
I think there is very likely a reason you deliberately haven't mentioned, or
one you are not aware of. If indeed you are not aware of it, perhaps if you
are able to discover what it is, you might be able to avoid similar problems
in the future. Maybe you passed out during a night of drinking, and your
"friends" had a tattoo put on the back of your neck which says, "Casino Security
are all WIMPS!" :-)
Brian
PS: You never mentioned the type of casino you frequent (though I remember
you talking about playing at the Palms, a while back). "Heat" is certainly
more likely at a small place, as winning large amounts causes much more concern
than if you won the same amount at a major casino. I won a large amount in a
short time at EI, a small place, which I believe is the main reason I was
backed off. I've won larger amounts at major casinos, and nothing happened at
all.

But in order to answer this or the
original question, I would have to have some valid comparison with
others who play as much as I do, and neither you nor I have such
data available. 3/4 of a million in W2-G's average per year means
that I have plenty of opportunities for unwanted casino attention.
