[vpFREE] Lyft and Uber verses taxis plus free ride for new users

 

I was initially leery of using Uber or Lyft but after having ridden them now, I can say they are much cheaper than taxis here in Vegas, usually 1/3-1/2 off.  And usually the vehicles and drivers are nicer.  One advantage is you see the cost upfront.  You can also choose between a shared ride, regular car or better car.  I will be using them to and from the airport from now on.  No worry about which way to direct the cabby to the shortest ride.  Also good for shorter hops from one casino to another.

Jeeps, as to "what can you do":  If you're willing to take a little time for constructive action, you note what info you can glean from displayed cabbie license, as well as cab # and/or license plate # upon exiting the taxi.  Then submit the following form to NV taxicab authority:

I am a bit confused at these posts been to the 4queens bartop  many times over the past couple weeks and just a few minutes ago and most have 10/6 DDB just played it won 50 bucks as well as 10/7 DB. 

I hope the confusion is you are only checking the .25 level because once you change to .50 and above they are there 100% positive just played them as were others.

9/6?  The bar DB games were 9/7 before the upgrade.  So, they weren't changed back to what they'd been.  They were downgraded!

The $19.80 guy  instructions; "airport.   Real friendly. I short trip I know he lived in Jersey, Las Angeles and Vegas last 10 years.  He asked where we from, you have good trip etc.?  Short  enjoyable cordial talk.  
His tip,   a fin. ( $5)   He thanked very very much.

I'm gonna try Uber & Lyft. 

Rental pick up, older guy,  $2.00 tip.    Drop off, young person probably clean up boy, $2.00 tip.  My thought, 
I tip a buck for a single  coffee at the casino.   The rental guys,  I say, "You have a soda on me."  Both appreciative .   Also, spending 8 days in gambling joints, I "kind of believe"  good thoughts from others may enhance the luck destined to me.  Key  words " 'kind of believe,' "
