 RULES,  1.  "To be eligible for the promotion simply hit a royal flush playing max coin-in on selected video poker machines.  Wild cards do not qualify."

I have been playing the referenced promo over the last two years.  I sometimes play a range of hands 8x, 10x, 12x and 16x on a 50x machine in the VIP area.  I have hit many times during this RF promo and the main inspection was to verify the hand did have the max 5 coins bet.

Enter Slot Shift Manager, MARK PACHECO whose interpretation demanded that all 50 hands must be played to be eligible for the RF bonus.  The max button on many of the newer games/  are directed to the max hands, the multiplier option (Super Times) and other semantics not connected to the 5 coin-in max.

Although quite polite, he was ready to move on.  I asked him to read the Rules and call GAMING and I would wait.  He did not recant but instead patronized me by saying he was making an exception in my case.  I clarified, then, if I continued to play the same favorite machine he would not pay another RF??
He would not.

It was a 6x pt day + the bonus and I had hoped to put on a 20K-30K handle. With his opinion, I then had the choice of 3x, 5x, and even 10x if the paytable was decent.  My max bet of $20 was  headed for$ 3.75, $6.25, or $12.50

Who do you go to?  This beats my experience of years ago when a natural quad promo was in jeopardy if the 5th card was a deuce (2) on a dueces-wild game.  I would cover this my hand as many of the verifiers
couldn't understand the hand.  

Watch out for Mr. Pacheco and now I surmise the change personnel on the morning shift.  A Slot Shift Manager who doesn't understand his own promo.

Of 24 SoCal casinos (not including card rooms), 9 have hotels.  All are 4* (except Fantasy Springs 3*).


Comparing non-suites:
Best beds: Harrahs (no view), Pechanga (have not tried new tower), Agua Caliente
Ok: Morongo, Barona (best view, golf view overlooks pond with ducks), Valley View
So-so: Pala (I find sheets scratchy, & bring my own)
Ok for 3*: Fantasy
Weird: Viejas (no blackout curtains, heat/A.C. may not work, noisy construction at 3 am, very few channels on TV - but I haven't new tower)

San Manuel (DoubleTree), Sycuan will pay for external hotels.

Food: excellent, many buffets would be in Vegas Top 10 buffets.  High-end better in Vegas

Best buffets: Pala, Barona, Valley View, Viejas

Pala - only decent sushi, stay away from Asian place, one big player only plays here because good is so much better than Pechanga-Pauma-Harrahs

Barons - $1 Street Tacos rock (cost $2.20 to make).  All good except fast food Italian/pizza.
Pauma - awesome pizza, horrible buffet
Harrahs - authentic chinese, good taco stand, bad buffet
Fantasy Springs - awesome chinese, bad buffet
Not so good - Pechanga, San Manuel (even steakhouse is so-so, buffet on shrimp night has great live cook station, 10 kinds of shrimp), Morongo (upstairs restaurant goos)

Pechanga might also be a good option.  Lots of restaurant choices and the new pool complex looks very nice.  They just built new hotel tower so rooms are plentiful.  Last I clocked it, comp rate about 0.1% to 0.15% on JoB and NSUD machines you'd probably play.

I should have noted that amenities/atmosphere are big factors.  Throw in $1 NSU and I'm pretty satisfied.  (I don't mind a modest house advantage these days ... that can even be an "advantage" in itself inasmuch as it dissuades me from playing "too hard" and instead relax over the stay.)

I believe Autohold has been removed as an option on the remaining machines that have NSUD. I think NSUD only remains on single line machines too.

Now how can I pass up this type of side amusement .... sounds like I need to break out a Novena card, to be placed prominently on the machine and tapped twice whenever holding 4 cards to the draw ;)

Luckily an employee was discussing my 'rate of play' very loudly on his headset so I switched to DDB from NSUD and slowed down before switching back to NSUD.
