[vpFREE] Wife & I signed up for player cards. Mail offers to me, but not wife?

First time in Vegas for years. So, fresh player cards.

We gave them good play. She hit 3 Royals at 50 cent play, I hit 1 @ $1 play.
Of the properties we visited only 1 casino sent both of us offers. Of the rest
only I got mail? I suspect they are not sending two offers to same address and
last name, even though separate numbered accounts. We took special care to
sign up at different times, but same day. Never asked them to join accounts in
any way.

Out of AC one property sends my offers one day later than hers, same
address, last name etc. Our player cards last 3 #s, "104" & "116". Our numbers
only 12 apart. Her Vegas offers may be on way though. Of course, even though we
played around a lot places, we only got 5 cards.

Just wondered if we shouldn't have used different address??

[vpFREE] Re: Vegas Inc: Nev. casinos find ways to add skill-based games

Interesting.. Once I watched person hold one high non suited card instead of two because he was going for Royals. I've seen "royal maniacs".

I think lots of casino management are college bean counters. Few run by gamblers anymore. They reward losers. Problem, as I see it, big losers eventually give up and quit. Ya CAN"T kill the geese laying the golden eggs. Loosening up allows some players to take advantage a little, but you keep the fish coming . That"s the cost of doing business, in gambling. Bean counters, like bankers, must profit everywhere. Geez, having house win of 1-2 % on 500 machines is not as good as 3% win with 1/10 the play , in their scheme of things.

However, gaming is now only 25% of profit, I've heard. Maybe bean counters are right.

Incidentally, if you ever find yourself in a situation like this where a royal flush will bring a lot of heat, the correct gto strategy is easily max_non_royal strategy where you maximize the return of the non-royal hands:

FHorbetter>4RF>FLorbetter>4SF>3RFnoA>Pair>3RFA>4FL>4STo>3SFnoA>4STinoA345>JTs

It doesn't matter if you have competition and they are royal maniacs, it's still optimal for you not to add to the heat. That's the definition of a gto strategy, your competition's strategy doesn't affect yours.

The problem is casino marketing is exactly backwards. Right now they punish winners and reward losers, like when Brodie hit that FPDW royal at Caesars and they tried to ban him from the WSOP for life. It would be like if they held the WSOP but awarded the prizes to the losers and banned the winners from playing next year. Losers only marketing strategy is a loser, eventually you run out of people who want to be recognized as losers.

The solution is to run casinos like the WSOP. Winners get rewarded, losers get punished, and the casino gets its vig for running the operation and keeping it honest.
