[vpFREE] Re: Golden Nugget offer to 1.5x match other casino offers

Also, it says "tell your friends!! we'll honor their other casino offers too!!"
It's from Gerry Del Prete VP of player relations (409) 457-5166.
He put his photo on the offer with examples of $100=$150 through
$5K = $7.5K :-)

[vpFREE] Golden Nugget offer to 1.5x match other casino offers

Received abpve offer from GN (Vegas).
The very small print:
1) 2 night stay required
2) Based on confirming no action since March 2010
3) GN will keep the original offer rcvd from the other casino

There's more fine print but I stopped at #3 as having to give them the original offer was a deal killer for us.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: IGT Video Blackjack Scam?

Observation bias. The last hand on the machine was often played poorly
because it was a losing, depleting the credit meter. This in no way implies
that the play was uniformly bad.

[vpFREE] Re: Info when you cash a ticket

i have been audited for the last 5 years straight on gambling losses (i will not allow it again, i will hit them for harrasment as the last 4 years straight no changes to returns were made!!) the first time was for 2005,6,7 all losses except for 2005 were allowed they disallowed some in 2005 (even with win-loss statements) because that year we used mainly cash at casino's (wrote checks at bank before trip, he said that those checks could have been used for anything, never mind within 2-3 days of the check being written we had w-2g's at casino!!!!! (no checks, debit cards, credit cards used at casinos) 2006,7 all losses allowed with only win-loss statements, bank account statements (showing checks written, and debit card use at casino location) credit card statements (showing cash withdrawn at casino location) 2008, 09 same thing and no changes made to return. the years 2006 -2009 we had over 250k each year in w-2g and were allowed to deduct ALL LOSSES

Here's where if you are not being truthful on the log it will start to bite you. If you start saying "I had the cash in the house" but you cannot support the loss entries with commensurate bank withdrawals or give other wishy-washy statements, the IRS can disallow those losses, you can do nothing about it per Tax Court case law precedence, and they can & will go over any and all entries with you in the same way.

[vpFREE] Buffalo Creek Casino VP Buffalo, NY

What type of machines do they have at this casino? I was playing a Dueces wild machine and playing using a strategy card. On most hands when I followed the strat card I lost. When I would hold the correct cards i would notice that the cards that came up were the ones to complete the ones I threw away. I finally started holding cards for the non favorable hands and started to win. I had a 2 of a royal with a duece and just held the duece. the cards that came up were the rest of the wild royal, If only I had held the origanal 2 cards. another time I had 3 to a flush and 3 to a wild royal. I got the flush. It seems to me the machines are paying like lottery tickets. Crappy!

[vpFREE] Bob Dancer's article - I thought this was amusing

You should probably read the whole article so you can appreciate the context the following quote was made in. I got a kick out of it, and I'm pretty sure I understand what Bob was saying.

"Many successful gamblers adopt an "Aw shucks" kind of demeanor which disguises whatever intelligence they possess."

[vpFREE] vpFREE Posting Guidelines - NOV 2011

vpFREE Posting Guidelines - NOV 2011

http://members.cox.net/vpfree/POL_P.htm

1. Everyone should read and be familiar with the vpFREE
FAQ before posting messages on vpFREE Forums.

2. Every message's subject line should accurately identify
the content of the message, to facilitate faster navigation
by interested or uninterested members.

3. If you reply to a message and change the subject matter,
either start a new thread (preferable) with a new subject
line or rename the subject line to reflect its new focus.

4. When replying to messages, quote just enough of the
previous post to maintain continuity. Delete the rest of
the previous post.

5. When replying to messages, clearly differentiate the
previous message(s) from your comments, so that it will be
easy to identify who wrote what.

6. Never post lengthy copyrighted material verbatim without
permission. This includes posts from non-vpFREE internet
forums. Instead, post a link to the material and/or a
summary. Short, credited excerpts may be quoted.

7. Don't use any vpFREE member's real name, even their
first name, on any vpFREE forum unless they themselves use
their real name there.

8. As a spam prevention measure, no one can upload to the
Files Directory on the vpFREE home page unless they get
temporary upload access from the Administrator.

9. Casino personnel probably monitor vpFREE Groups so posts
containing sensitive information should take this into
consideration.

10. Members are expected to observe the rules of
Netiquette , and to practice politeness and show good taste
in their vpFREE posts.

11. Any post that disagrees with vpFREE Dogma and
reaches contradictory conclusions, should be supported with
significant, persuasive documentation. Generalizations and
limited anecdotal evidence aren't persuasive.

12. Most vpFREE members rely on the forum for accurate
information, and may misunderstand, misinterpret or be
confused by tongue-in-cheek posts which are presented as
fact. Always make it very clear in your posts if they are
tongue-in-cheek, by using "smilies", stating that you're
kidding or something similar.

13. Use FREEvpFREE for any political, religious, or smoking
vs. non-smoking discussions. Non-partisan status reports
about smoking and non-smoking availability in casinos are OK
on vpFREE.

14. If you have Yahoo administrative problems, send a
private email to the Administrator, after you have checked
the vpFREE Yahoo! Administrative Problems Directory.

15. Let the Administrator do the administrating. Send any
comments, questions, suggestions or disagreements about
vpFREE policies or procedures to the Administrator via
private email or post them on FREEvpFREE.
