[vpFREE] Gold Coast -- how to annoy players for $3

The big ad in the newspaper touted 9.99$ for Octoberfest buffet on Saturdays in Oct. Sounded great to us with our $10 weekly food coupon a perfect fit. Big sign in front of the buffet -- $9.99. We go in, and woops, we owe about $3 more per person with the coupon. Why? We can't combine "offers". The 9.99 was a special "discount". So if we use the coupon we have to pay the full $12.99 price. Can't combine "offers."

To me the big ads were saying the 9.99$ gave $9.99 as the PRICE of the buffet, not showing a "discount offer." False, misleading, and annoying.

Well guess what Gold Coast, next time I go gambling, instead of playing your 3/5 play $1 or 10 play $1 VP machine like I usually do when I visit you, I'll go gamble across the street or somewhere else.

I'm sure I'm not the only Gold coast player who went or will go to the Sat. Buffet planning to use a coupon who will end up an annoyed customer.

Obviously the ads should have fine print reading "This is a special discount, and coupons or other offers will only be honored at non-discounted prices." or something like that to avoid confusion. Barring that, I believe these ads are extremely misleading.

When there are so many casinos, if a casino wants players, they shouldn't go out of their way to annoy players, especially not 'regulars' with coupons, not if they want them to stay regulars.

[vpFREE] Re: Tax consequences of w2gs

The optimist in me hopes there will be sensible tax policies for gambling some day, but I am a little worried that only the high rollers will be able to hire the tax specialists who can set up a blocker corporation in the Cayman islands to offset wins and losses.

I know the high rollers will be taken care of!

[vpFREE] Palms

Little Buddah closes on Sunday for remodeling into -- shock, an Asian Restaurant....apparently with sushi --- sounds just like....Little Buddah....

The construction continues with the big bar totally curtained off for reconstruction. Gudarnos has closed for remodeling into a sports bar. Vegas must need another one.

I noticed the wall next to Earl of Sandwich looks like something else will go in there. My guess, Mexican fast food, but it is just a guess. The space where the tattoo parlor was is now all blacked out with a wall, for awhile a sign said it would be a chocolates and crepe type store, which sounded good, I don't know if that is what is under construction now or not, because the sign is gone.

Ate at the buffet with a friend who loved the espresso type coffee machine, only to find it is gone from the buffet. Sigh.

I bet the casino industry will give it their best efforts! When casinos look at the potential threats to their business I'm sure tax policy is right up there on the first page.

In fact, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Sheldon Adelson has already mentioned this to Romney, Ryan, and others who may have a say in policy decisions.

Hi Bob,

Do you have a link to that app for the Android. I checked Michael's website and only found the iPhone app.

Thanks!

other way I think.

Tonight, but only tonight, I have a different opinion. I was called for
the eight o'clock drawing at Rampart tonight (a miracle all by itself) and
got to pick out a coffin (Halloween, remember), one of twenty-five. Least I
could win was $250 but I somehow found the top prize of $5000. I'm still

RE: [vpFREE] Re: VPenvironment

The Wizard of Odds, Michael Shackleford, says he has a hand-held vp trainer for both iPhone and Android. While I haven't actually compared it to the features of WinPoker, it's clearly created by somebody who knows what he's doing. For a few dollars, some Android user should get it and report back. For those for whom it matters, Shack is a friend and we host a radio show together --- but I have absolutely no financial interest in this project. Bob

RE: [vpFREE] A Video Poker Related Slot Question

Sorry for the slot questions, but video poker players are
required to make some slot choices!

I'm not clear from reading your thread if you're interested in: a. Playing off already-earned free play/cashback b. Earning more points so to qualify for the big multipliers If it's the first, it likely isn't worth worrying about too much unless you have an unusually large amount of free play. If it's the second, there's a really good chance that the best game to play is "none of the above." Even though the 10x multipliers seem "very big," the hold on slot machines is likely bigger. Playing a video poker game with no point multiplier is likely a smarter choice than a slot machine with 10x multipliers. Bob

Those machines have been there for a LONG time but thanks for updating.
They pay no points by the way. They are clearly labeled as "100%" so you can't miss them.
