Thank you for all the info. I am going to ask along with $40 for the fantasy suite although I do not expect to get it. I will definitely keep everyone updated. I wish I lived in Vegas.

[vpFREE] Palms food
We love Little Buddah, great fish, sushi (best in town, freshest) - but now
closed Mon. and Tues.
Nine has good food but horrible acoustics - very noisy because of high
ceilings.
Alize is a great French restaurant with fantastic view - recommended
highly! (and far better than Nine or Nove)
Nove Italian was good, but view couldn't be seen because of the way they
put the windows and tables in.
Simon - at the attached Palms Place - very good food, but can be noisy in
the evenings. We went for Sunday brunch - which is delicious if you like
sushi probably worthwhile - but very expensive if you don't eat a lot of
sushi or peel-eat-shrimp and a few other items. You pick items off menu plus
they have sushi (limited to a few types but very good) and a few other
items. Includes things like smoothies too. You can pick as many different
items off menu as well, and reorder them too. Lobster benedict was delicious.
But booze is extra; you can also pay some amount for unlimited bloody
marys or some other kind of liquor.
Gudarno's has good Mexican - but music is loudish from the casino.
The buffet has improved recently and has snow crab legs at dinner. Show
club card for discount, but buffet is a bit overpriced unless they are
having some sort of 1/2 price sale. Some of food is unidentifiable or not very
good, some is good, you just never know. They do have a gourmet coffee
machine and free wine with dinner.
Coffee shop - wasn't too great in the past, but they have added a Chinese
area in the back that includes dim sum - but the Chinese seems not so good
lately. I prefer to just go to the buffet.
-------
Across street is Gold Coast with lower priced buffet. No crab legs but
food is more consistent in quality. They also have Ping Pang Pong chinese
and Noodle Cafe chinese - popular with local Chinese community (personally I
don't think it is all that good - at least compared to Philadelphia and NYC
and other East Coast Chinese restaurants, unfortunately for my Chinese
tastebuds I live in Vegas now.)
Also a TGIF there. Cortez Room is very reasonably priced with good Prime
Rib for $15 and some other good items. Not gourmet, but for under $25 you
get a very nice, sit down meal. Don't order a liquor drink though - very
small for the price. Wine is okay though.

Have fun at Palms and let us know if you got a fantasy suite for $20
upgrade!

Bob is referring to the fact that if you are winning 54% of your bets your opponent is only winning 46% rate against you. That's an 8% difference. Of course, the juice is not calculated in.

I don't see any Super Times Pay listed in vpFREE2 for Harrah's New
Orleans. There are some 25c Multi-Strike with 9/6 JoB listed.

I would say no. Most probability calculations are just multiple simple calculations that anyone who can use a calculator can do. Wrapping your head around the entire concept can be easier for math minded people, but if you work at it you shouldn't have too many issues.

Also what restaurants would you recommend at Palm's?
Before they took out most of the playable video poker, the Palms was my
favorite casino anywhere not in small part because of their wonderful
restaurants. IMHO, Alize is one of the very best restaurants in Las Vegas. The
food, the service, and the view are beyond reproach. When you add the cost of
the wine it does get a little pricey, but the pleasure at eating there and
the satisfaction at the end of the meal makes it all worth while. Nove is
another top tier restaurant, and so is Simon's. Little Buddha has such good
sashimi and so many sake choices that I've never tried the rest of the
menu. Cathay House wasn't there before they took out the good video poker, but
I'll bet it's good too.
Among the lesser restaurants, Gardunos is a wonderful choice especially if
you add a king crab appetizer courtesy of Anthony Curtis's LVA Palms
$50/50% coupon. 24/7 is also excellent whether your using your gambling points
or not. The Bistro Buffet isn't as good as the buffets at the Wynn,
Bellagio, or even the Rio, but it's okay. YMMV, because I haven't been there for a
couple of years. The food court is just what you'd expect, and I've never
been to Nine because it's supposed to be noisy and full of celebrities.
You'll occasionally see celebrities in the main casino, but if you stay out of
the nightclubs and smaller high priced venues you shouldn't be bothered by
their entourages and the chaos their fans bring with them.
The Palms never comped me (and they told me they never would) but comps
seem to be easier to come by now that the good video poker is gone.
Fortunately, the LVA coupon can also be used to defray room charges. The Palms still
has some positive Double Bonus as well as Not So Ugly Ducks and 9/6 JoB,
so with promotions or coupons you can still play there a little. When we were
in Las Vegas just before Christmas, We stayed at the Rio (courtesy of a
$15 a night promotion LVA found) and ate and gambled a little at Ping Pang
Pong and the Gold Coast as well as the Palms. For Yum Tsa (dim sum) you can't
do better than Ping Pang Pong which is in the Gold Coast across the street
from the Palms. On that trip, we spent most of our time at the Fiesta
Henderson and Sam's Town, but arrrrgh, I sure do miss the Palms. I hope this
helps, have a good trip.

Sportsbook is no where near a big money maker for casinos both in aggregate win and % of wagers held - you can get this from the state gaming numbers.

It's not quite the way to look at the bet. Imagine the casino has a game of flipping coins. But the players play against each other. So two players post their $11 to win $10 bets, one takes heads, the other takes tails. The casino now has $22 in it's possesion. The player that wins the toss receives back the $11 that he bet plus the $10 that he won. The casino took in $22 but paid back $21. 21 divided by 22 equals 95.45454%. The casino is holding a 4.54545% edge on the total action. I'm ignorant on the subject of sports betting so I know this little example is not even close to the
end of the story....but it is the start. It's a fundamental of sports betting.
If you buy 1000 tickets laying $11 to win $10, your total action will be $11,000 If you cash 524 (52.4%)of the tickets, which you will cash at $21 apiece, your return will be $11,004. A whopping $4 profit.
