[vpFREE] Re: Proposed IRS Rule Change From $1200 to $600 on W2-G Jackpots

I believe that the more comments the IRS gets, from us small players,
the better. But, no bad language or harangue as such will cause a
comment to be ignored. I am surprised that the big casino groups
haven't asked their players to comment about this issue; though they may
be afraid that if they explain the time delay of receiving payoffs may
deter them from playing in the future.

[vpFREE] Ellis Island

Got my May mailer from Ellis Island today. Yes, today is May 7. Promos on it I've not seen before: "Pick your 10- Visit the kiosk daily and receive one of the following offers: 10% off entree in the cafe or BBQ- 10% on the jackpot of your choice over $1200- $10 in pit play-$10 in free play."
Also: "Garden Giveaway-April showers bring May flowers- Wednesday, May 20th and 27th- Win $10 Home Depot gift card for every 500 base points you play! Limit 2 per Wednesday. See promotions booth for details."

I haven't played at all there since last year, other than playing the perks postcards freeplay through once and cashing out. Hey, Ellis Island, I'm just not that into you anymore.
I hope the info might be useful to someone, but am not sure if it was directed towards my card level only.

[vpFREE] VP software details

I'm curious as to what video poker software is out there, what people prefer and for what reasons. I'm aware of WinPoker, Frugal VP, Wolf VP, Optimum VP, and VP for Winners.

Frugal VP is free and I find it sufficient for doing things like calculating MCR strategies, progressive strategies, seeing EV loss from using alternate strategies, and as a trainer. I think it's a bit clunky if you want to move hands around in the strategy list by yourself, and I find it very lacking in the bankroll analysis/long term simulation department, which is what I am interested in now.

I want to be able to look at some graphs and answer questions about long term bankrolls and risk of ruin for single line, multi-line, and perhaps even Spin Poker or STP given a game and a strategy (perhaps one I create myself) and a certain slot club rate (e.g. maybe I'm playing 9/6 JoB but I estimate the promotions and mailers add 1% to my return).

Comments are welcome!

Re: [vpFREE] Dangerous Situation...Jamie Bridger

A couple of years ago I was hacked for my contact list like this and they sent out the exact same email except it was London instead of Manilla. And it showed up on vpFREE too.

Re: [vpFREE] Dangerous Situation...Jamie Bridger

Actually, I believe this is one of those cases where somebody's computer has been hacked, and the perpetrator is sending out e-mails to everyone on his contact list. Phishing is where somebody is out to try and get information from you, by getting you to usually fill in some form where you disclose personal information, or clicking on a site that get's you to give out the information or worse allows a virus or the like into your computer.
Here they aren't looking for personal mail, all they want is money.
I usually consider spam to just be junk advertising mail. This mail has actual criminal intent. I find it hard to believe that something this old is still being tried, but I guess you don't have to find many suckers in order to turn a profit.

A.P.
