It's been awhile since I played in SoCal, but Valley View had a non-smoking section at the time. I am not sure what their low level play was like or is like. Rincon has never been good for low level play to my knowledge. Pala might be the best bet for low level play as they at least used to have NSUD. If it is still there, that would be your best bet, but it can be quite smoky there.

[vpFREE] Re: No more Stations rollover credits....

It's true that 9/6 DDB is indeed still considered full pay, even tho the 10/6 version has been around for a while now, and (in LAS anyway) is only about 30% harder to find than its 9/6 cousin. (VPfree2 lists 68 Vegas locations where you can find 9/6, 48 where 10/6 is available.)

[vpFREE] 388/389 Casinos in N San Diego County

There are 4 casinos served by the NCTD buses 388/389 (one goes clockwise, the other counter clockwise, thus I call them the 388/389 Casinos which are Pala, Pauma, Harrah's Rincon, and Valley View( in N San Diego County.  The question is which has the best VP for low level play and which is the best for the non-smoking player.  Any opinions welcomed. [vpFREE] Combining 2 good plays together

Realizing that this is a video poker group, I hope that this post will not be laughed at.  My trips to Vegas now are much more limited due many reasons.  One of the main things about such a trip is to have fun with the games as well. Thus, how about going when there is a buy in Keno Tournament.  Before the positive value purists laugh me off please read the following.

Buy in to tourney   $500
Expected return               $375 (based on 25% hold, some tickets better, some worse)
Prize money $10,000 divided by average 100 entries =  $100
Free small gift  -about $25  value
Free meals      - about$50  value

rooms - free or 50% off for tourney participants.

Now if you take a casino with good VP and that has these type of Keno Tournaments
such as The Orleans or The Cal I feel you have the best of both worlds.  If u put value to the comps then I feel you actually come out ahead. And of course, the slot club and free play offers help a lot, too.

I am asking this as I would be appreciative of any info on these type of Keno tournaments.. BTW The Orleans also runs VP tournaments and once in a while so does the Cal.. thanks

[vpFREE] Barona Qualifying

Barona has a bank of 25 cent machines that includes 6/9 JOB.  As we all
know there are plays of NSUD for $1 up but being that I am more
knowledgeable at JOB and it is offered at more of an affordable level, I
am posing the following questions"

Return on JOB estimate at 99.4% (I know the theoretical is 99.54... but being a realist as we all make mistakes..)

Slot Club Cash Back 0.1%

Value of Welfare checks hard to determine, this is where I need to know how much play generates how much in monthly benefits. I am also aware that Food Comps of Value are given for play thus I feel with the monthly mailers, birthday offers, hotel offers if your action gets that high, including comps the return can be over 100%.  Can anyone break this down as to how much play would be minimally required to get to 100%.. For example if you play
2 visits a month (they usually send out 2 cash coupons each month, each good for a separate 11 days in that month) and play about 6 hours each time at 25 cent JOB at lets say 600 hands/hour (I can play faster but I need to take a leak, or get something to eat, or answer the phone..etc, etc thus this average rate) thus figuring 6,000 hands x $1.25/hand = $ 7500 which gets $7.50 cash back plus comps worth...(my guess is this play would get at least one and possibly 2 buffets - buffet normally $20.99 + tax but discounts for various tier levels) .  Thus am assuming $7500 coin in, loss of about $45 with the food comps knocking that out and the welfare checks (figuring 2 @ $10 for this play level) thus making $1.75 /hour but any extras from drawings, walk around goodies they pass out, might raise this a little.  Is this analysis good, or feel free to improve on it..Thanks

Do you drink? If so, then maybe give that new Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill at Caesar's a try.

Just games over 100% E.V. but not all FP machines as plenty of 99.5%+ E.V. paytables. Nowadays, lot's of gamblers call 9/6 DDB full pay.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: No more Stations rollover credits....

Mohegan Sun in CT has gone through a similar series of anti-customer steps. Now that I recall, the very first step was a cut in the theo rate. That consequently cut off many customers from achieving their highest level, which was by invitation only, after you had gotten to their 2nd level and continued to rack up points. As I remember the numbers, you needed 1600 points to get the 2nd level, and at about 4500-4800 you had a very good shot at the ultimate level. So once everyone figured out that the points between 1601 and whatever number had become worthless for tier level, most people just stopped playing there after reaching 1600.

Sounds like points above that needed for tier level have become worthless since they can't be rolled over. So why bother playing after you reach the magic number?

Oh when will they ever learn: once you devalue something people won't bother earning it any more, which just means reduced play for the casino.
