Look for promotions and mailed offers that increase the return over just the EV of the game plus whatever the points are worth.

It seems like the best promotions aren't the ones available every month at a casino. For example a casino might have a really good promo just every few months, so it pays to research all info available - mailers, blogs, websites, etc.

I believe Bob Dancer has written about some specific promos that are over now but could pop up again.

9/6 JoB (99.54%) is generally considered one of the easiest games to learn and is available in several denominations at many casinos. Plus the same strategy can be used for other games like 8/5 Bonus Poker and 9/6 Bonus Deluxe without a huge loss in return.

As to what Las Vegas casinos are popular with visitors, I would say Four Queens, Gold Coast, Sam's Town, Main Street and South Point are mentioned frequently.

It is one thing to give out promotions in an unequal fashion for whatever purpose a casino wants to. Boyd does this on Thursday multi point days. YOu just pick a button to reveal what your multiplier is. THere is no pretext of a game of chance, they clearly give whoever they want good or bad multipliers. It does not even appear that you have any type of gamble involve. I have NO PROBLEM with this method of assigning a promotion.
Totally different thing on YAH day when it surely appears that you have a 1 in 6 chance of getting the top award. Why is this reasonable, legal, and appropriate?

As many of you know, I teach classes at the South Point for two
10-week semesters a year. I have assistants helping me --- collecting
names, passing out class notes, selling products, running the
projector, etc. There's no real dress code for the job other than you
can't be wearing logo stuff from another casino.

One of my long-time assistants has had to bail for this coming
semester because her husband recently developed serious health issues
and she's needed at home. I'm looking for a replacement --- possibly just for the semester --- possibly longer.

This semester is Wednesdays August 10 - October 12 and you'd need to be there from
about 11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Compensation: Well, you get a free lunch with the group after the
class and the right to ask me any questions you want about gambling.
Theoretically there's a limit to how many questions you can ask, I
suppose, but none of my helpers have come close to that. Also,
attending the classes over and over again, I promise you'll become a
more knowledgeable video poker player.

Let me know. bobdancerlasvegas@yahoo.com

morning, we agree, anyone who plays that game might think all the spots on the wheel have an equal chance, that's why they play it, no ? Did u ever play the swipe promo at south point ? I haven't been in there in over a year BUT, the players with the highest mailer 99 % of the time got 25 -50 $$ in value, the lowest mailer people got 5 $$, buffets etc, obviously this isn't random. Its a FREE BONUS , an extra , they have no obligation to give away free extras in equal amounts ,right ? Look at the screen, does BYD ever represent that all six spots have an equal chance to win, the multiple swipe ? Does south point represent to players that all players have an equal chance on all the prizes being offered ? I doubt it.

I don't believe for a second that all the spots have equal chances, but I'd be willing to bet that most of the players do think that the chances are equal.

did u ever watch players play wheel of fortune ? When they spin the wheel do you think all outcomes have an equal chance from 20$$ to 1000$$ even tho the spaces are equal on the wheel ?

A.P....Glad you responded. It seems to me that when 6 choices are presented it appears as a choice you have to make among 6 specific outcomes that is not pre determined. Just like a virtual drawing appears will be randomly selected with all entries given equal chance and no winner pre determined. I have no idea what would keep Boyd from selecting who they want to win and make sure that entry is "selected" Prehaps since you have won often you are one of the lucky ones who they have determined should win more than the number of entries you have in the hopper would warrant.
The point is if a company will show a fictional game as random what is to keep them from doing that with other promotional games? How in the world do you really know that they are simulating a real drum virtually? Proving it is not random would be MUCH hard or impossible as compared with the YAH multiplier game which is very easy to prove. HOw difficult it is to prove an unfair game is occuring in the virtual drawing only increases the chance that they are per selecting winners...if they do it (as they clearly do) with the YAH game when it is easy to prove it is hard to believe they would not see the drawing as a way to reward who they want to reward.
