[vpFREE] Sycuan Database Update

Everything listed as VIP Room can be removed because there is no longer a VIP slot area. It was my first visit there, but slot floorpeople tell me it was just recently eliminated. They have a new sportsbar area with lots of $1 VP progressives with games like 9/6 DDB, 9/5 JB, 8/5/30 BP. In an adjacent area behind a glass wall, I found lots of nonprogressives with 9/6 JB, 9/7 DB, 8/5 BP, and 9/6 DDB. Lower denominations and multiline games had lesser paytables.

I have not played that promo, but I believe it is still going strong as part of their Twofer Tuesday promotions. I got an email from them yesterday with it still listed. I don't remember exactly when it started, but I think it has been at least a couple of months. It only applies to quarters, and I think paytables at that denomination are sufficiently horrible to protect them from much harm.

Is there a gaming commission there so that it's likely that this

[vpFREE] Confirmation of previous report about Australia casinos

I believe this information has been posted here and/or in the database already, but here is a "confirmation":

Neither Star City Casino in Sydney nor Crown Casino in Melbourne has any VP whatsoever. (Well, except possibly for private areas where you have to be a member to enter, but I'm pretty sure those don't have any VP either.)

Re: [vpFREE] XVP Best place for crab legs

You are correct - The Village Seafood Buffet at the Rio had only snow
crab available.

The AYCE at GVR's Tides Oyster Bar and the Studio B Buffet at M also
have only snow crab.

Aria's Buffet had both king and snow crab legs, served cold by
default. However, you can ask the people behind the crab legs at the
buffet, and they will take your plate of cold crab legs, put them in
the steamer, and return them to you nice and hot!!

At the Bellagio, how does it work to get the crab legs heated up.

That reminds me, the Wynn Buffet also serves crab legs cold. But,
you can take your plate over to the grill and they will heat them for
you. The last four times I've been to the Buffet at the Wynn,
they've had snow crab legs twice and king crab legs twice. They used
to have WONDERFUL meaty king crab legs, but they keep getting more
and more anemic on recent visits, or as I mentioned, turning into
snow legs instead. Any recent reports?

That saddens me. I loved that bar machine.

The $1 9/7 DB progressive machines by the buffet have been removed. Didn't
see them elsewhere in the casino. These are the ones that had 10/7 DB until
a couple of months ago.

Also the one machine at the Lounge Bar with 25c/50c/$1 10/7 DB has been
downgraded.

[vpFREE] Re: Bob Dancer's LV Advisor Column - 11 OCT 2011

Gaming still requires game software to be hard-coded on rom chips even though the technology exists to bypass this.

The in show gaff is an add on chip and obvious. No such "additions" are allowed in production machines. And yes the machines are on a secure network not connected to the Internet typically run by Unix or AS400 servers.

I used to service them.

The randomizer is not "juiced" it is bypassed and the machine deals a set hand that you request. Even on the demo machines at the show the randomizer is completely random.

The gaff is a bypass add-on not a modification.

In the old days these would have been special ROM chips different from the production ROM chips but these days the software is all piled together and frequently updated anyway. Fortunately the regulators hire cheap undocumented software programmers to check each machine on an active floor to make sure that this special demo software isn't "accidentally" enabled on even a single machine, right? And machines aren't connected to the internet, enabling hackers, right?

Re: [vpFREE] XVP Best place for crab legs

Bellagio - about $36 for dinner buffet.  Choice of either king or snow crabs.  Served cold but you can get them heated if you ask. Also, best creme brulee I have tasted at a Vegas buffet.

Another king crab place is the Southpoint seafood restaurant.  Last time (1 year) I was there, I got 1 1/2 lbs for about $16.

Re King versus snow crabs, I recall that the Village buffet was snow crab only.  What about GVR, M, and Aria - king or snow?

On the wild side -  Check out the place (I think called hot n juicy) on Spring Mountain Road.  Bare bones restaurant that specializes in crayfish (mild to hot hot) and draft beer.  The Spring Mountain Road oriental restaurants is the main reason I get a rental car on my Vegas trips.

Recently, I've been going to one of these for my AYCE crab leg fix:

TIDES OYSTER BAR AT GREEN VALLEY RANCH - All you can eat, served hot,
$25 plus a drink.
STUDIO B BUFFET AT M RESORT (Fri, Sat, & Sun) - All you can eat,
served hot or cold, $30.
VILLAGE SEAFOOD BUFFET AT RIO - All you can eat, served hot or cold,
$40 (or $30 with Local ID & Total Rewards Card shown at register).
THE BUFFET AT ARIA - All you can eat, served cold, but they will
steam them by request.  Went on Sunday, but not sure if they have
them other days or what the current pricing is.  I think we paid $36
or so?

I used to go to the Feast Buffet at Santa Fe when they had all you
can eat hot crab legs on their Friday seafood nights, but those are
long gone, and I don't think I've set foot in there since.  :(  I did
enjoy it, though, as it was a great use of my points!

I'd like to know if anyone else has any favourites, along with
whether they are served hot or cold and the price.
