[vpFREE] Stations' Multipliers

I was unable to get the advertised public multiplier today at both Boulder Station and Fiesta Rancho. The multiplier was not available to me on either kiosk. At Boulder Station, the boothling told me I could play and they would add the points tomorrow. At Fiesta Rancho, a host told me I was on a corporate list and would be denied public point multipliers at all Station properties. Since I got different answers at each property, apparently someone was lying to me. Why would Stations deny anyone a 2X multiplier with their horrible video poker inventory at high denominations?

Re: [vpFREE] Re: DIAD compendium (was DIAD ?s)

> did you both play with the machine set on "high"?

yes. we both "2-manned" the same, single, machine 3-play machine set on the fastest setting (she played the left picks, I played the right and the draw). but honestly, our play wasn't THAT fast. anyone who has played more than a couple of years would have EASILY kept up with what we were doing...either as a spectator or as a player. our absolute goal was to play perfect and we missed by 3 plays in 2000. 0.15% (assuming there wasn't an error we BOTH missed after the fact ... which is POSSIBLE, but not likely...we've learned VP in different ways...i think of charts from the top-down, she thinks of them from the bottom-up).

as an aside, I've watched MANY MANY people play VP, and ALL people I've seen who play break-neck speeds, I've seen make mistakes...including very "famous" VP players (yes, including the people you're thinking of right now). I'm not talking about crazy penalty card things or 1-in-a-jillion hands; I'm talking about straight forward stuff like middle suited connectors with a 2 on FPDW, or playing an A only on an AK board in 9/6 JoB.

to be very clear, this isn't me not keeping-up, or me misreading boards, it's them making mistakes.

there's a few, somewhat slower players, I've NEVER seen make a mistake.

I'm certain speed induces errors. I know there would have been many times more in my play if my GF hadn't have been right there with me.

but honestly it didn't feel break neck in the least...it was studious, but comfortable, 3 hours.

Re: [vpFREE] Redemption of rewards credits for cash- 2 for 1

Does anyone know if any Caesars property in LV is going to have points redemption for cash? I thought that at one time Harrahs Rincon had it. Thanks

Thanks all, I think we have enough. I'll announce the Title after Erskine has made the final choice.

Re: [vpFREE] Nola Partner hotels

Good to know. Thanks. Their website doesn't list either Loews or the W
as partners. Just proves you got to ask.

Not positive but I don't think the W is on their list anymore. Actually
neither is Loews unless there is a special arrangement. At least they
didn't offer it last time I checked.

We liked Lowes which is next door to Harrahs and easy walk over to New Orleans Harrahs and the underground walkway, or cross street. Very good restaurant in it as well. The W is also very close, quick walk across the street to Harrahs. You should be safe on any of these or close partner hotels. I've done it late at night too, but obviously look before you walk and know where you are walking.

Also watch out for fast moving cars on the streets, they seem to move pretty fast for a center city.

[vpFREE] Re: re Harrahs New Orleans

> 1a. Re: re Harrahs New Orleans

I just returned from a meeting in New Orleans held at the Astor Crowne Plaza -- it is about 5 blocks up Canal St. While I felt safe walking to & from at pretty much all hours (latest I was out was 1am), and while it was OK, it has nothing to commend it otherwise, except if you would find it to be more economical, a possibility because of its relatively remote location. The walk does not require going on any side streets, and while Canal is not all that upscale (in my opinion), again, I felt safe. The tram / trolley runs up & down the middle of Canal.

Other than that experience, I have not stayed in New Orleans Harrahs or nearby hotels in the past several years. I have attended events many years ago at the Windsor Court hotel, which was fantastic, and probably still is, and likely very expensive.

While walking, I did note that the Hilton and the Doubletree were easily the very closest facilities.
