2008 Redux?
If you were residing in Sun City Anthem in December, 2008, you may remember views similar to these:

A little over six years ago, the Las Vegas Valley was slammed with what meteorologists called the biggest snowstorm in more than 30 years. Sun City Anthem and the Henderson area caught the brunt of it, with a snowfall of more than nine inches.
As the above photos may suggest, it was beautiful to look at, but it also played havoc with area residents. There were stranded motorists, vehicle accidents, severely damaged trees and and bushes, and the general absence of one thing that few of us thought we'd ever need: snow shovels.
Our local TV weathermen are referencing 2008 in calling for very cold temperatures and the possibility of measurable snowfall in the Valley this New Year's week. Not just in the mountains, but also down on the Valley floor.
This could mean us here in SCA, so pay attention to the forecasts and take proper precautions.
At the very least, I urge you to be aware of friends and neighbors who are living alone, and prepare to help them if the need arises.
If we're lucky and it does snow, perhaps it will be the slight amount that turns our neighborhoods into brief winter wonderlands and melts away quickly.
But do not forget the Boy Scout motto: BE PREPARED.
