Don't forget George Maloof sticking his nose in too. Seems like his time would have been better spent attending AA Meetings and holding on to more than 2% of his company.

Only if you lose. If you have a win, you only get two $1 vouchers. Who would have thought there were winner mailers more insulting than Coast or South Point.

Perhaps it will turn out well. I did not mean to sound like a Dotty's-hater, because I am not. In fact, I was rooting for them in their earlier battles, and I admire their success.

I have heard that Dotty's has good bounceback, and I know they did have NSU at one time, perhaps they still do. I visited Vegas last month and all I saw was PNSU. And NO progressives. That's a personal pet peeve of mine because I think a well-thought out offering of progressives is such a win-win for both the player and the house. But that's just me. No, I do not have anything against Dotty's, but I think they could improve. I notice they are in Food-4-Less now, looks like they're really aggressive in their plans for the future. Wish them well.

As for the Hacienda, I have always liked that place. They used to have many FPJW, and other good games. Now the FPJW are down to four, but their cb rate has always been good, their regular multiplier days, their comps. Not sure if they had mailers, because I am not a local. For a long time they've given a free buffet for 500 points earned, keep points. That promo has been there forever.

So you can see, Hacienda is a good deal, I just wouldn't want to see it go down the tubes.

Let me amend my post. It's going to be what it's going to be, no matter what I think. So here's wishing that Dotty's does something even better with Hacienda, and also wish continued success to Dotty's.

And HEY DOTTY'S! Put in some good progressives! lol

Bob B., how come you don't think this sounds so good? I don't want to argue with anybody, but maybe you know something about the situation I do not.

I have never set foot in the Hacienda, even though I live pretty close to it. Reading about what they presently have to offer in promos and games (in VPFree2 and occasionally in Scot's Vegas Values),I have never felt compelled to check it out.

I don't work for Dotty's or any other gaming establishment.

I have some sympathy for the family that owns Dotty's. A decade ago, they presented their business model to Nevada Gaming for approval. They were sneered at, and told that their business would never work. They were given approval.

Since then their idea has really taken hold in the Las Vegas/Henderson area, and they have even spawned imitators, like Jackpot Joanie's.

Now, years later, Gaming is changing the rules that they had previously approved, demanding that Dotty's retrofit their stores to include bartop games. Of course, the whole business model is to attract people who want to gamble in a smaller place that ISN'T a bar. Women feel safer.
Another huge expense is the demand to put in full service kitchens, to make a "tavern."

The Fertitta brothers saw Dotty's as a threat to their customer base, and have asked Gaming to change the rules that had been previously okayed. It appears, to me at least, that Gaming has caved to Station casinos about this.

Dotty's has had, for some time, a good promo that turns one of their games into a good play. Also, they give good bounceback cash.

I am eager to see what they might do at the Hacienda.
