[vpFREE] RE: Positive ev at the big two

There's some history at LVH with 9/6 JB having almost zero theo so YMMV. The 9/6 DDB machines do not seem to have that problem (yet). We give them $30K/action with 5% on slots. No food offers in the mailings but that's o.k. as can use your points for Philly steak subs at the fast food joint in the Sports book. The coffee shop is decent. Our days of going to the fancy restaurants ended 10 years ago when they got rid of the FPPE at the star trek bar. Their theo was set at ~8%.

Sweet memories.
The significant free play makes it work for us. That could be cut out tomorrow. LVH whacked our mailers way down after a decent win in October 2012 and we stopped going. They started the good mailers back-up in April 2013 and have been going again every other month. That's the only joint that ever let us back into their arms.

The divorce appears to be final with GVR, Atlantis and several CET properties.

MSS action is ~$30K/day with 95% FPDB and 5% slots. It's usually Ipo working the slot club host desk. System at MSS appears different than other joints and not sure if $1 VP players get attention above the monthly mailer offers. Plus we never ask for anything special.

[vpFREE] Walking Dead slots

walking Dead and True blood have shown up at Palms and a number of casinos in Vegas. Dead is by far the better slot machine, with True Blood very disappointing. Also look for new Phantom of the Opera which are interesting, but only if you like the music from the show or you will go crazy. Willie Wonka machines are fun to play but total money suckers and again, if you don't like the music u will quickly go nuts.

Haaljo,
What sort of daily play do you give Main Street Station to get the silver card and the $200 in free play?  Do you use a specific host there?

Haaljo,  interesting suggestion with the LVH.  Hadn't really considered that one.  The variance with 9/6 JoB is pretty easy to stomach compared to 10/7 DB and they have it at the $1 level.  Centrally located off the bus line and with a monorail connection I can get around from there pretty cheaply.  I will definitely have to run some coin through and see what I come up with.

Also good suggestions about the free shuttle to South Point.  I will have to remember that one when planning future trips.

Looks like most people are coming in with a big NO for CET or MLife, looks like I'll scratch them off my list.

Re: [vpFREE] Digest Number 8571

H.F.  that was what I was thinking exactly.  Basically playing two sessions at $25,000 a piece (and including bonus points), I could achieve Diamond status and all the glorious benefits that comes with that distinction.
Barry's math is correct by me if I was playing a 9/6 machine at $25/point, it would ONLY cost $625, however, can you make up the difference in comps based on the difference in theo between the two.
The reason I used the 98.5% example is that Bob Dancer mentioned on a recent GWAE that he played most of his vp (for CET properties) at Planet Hollywood because by his calculations, this casino had machines that would give the best return by their system (theoretical loss, etc. . .).  A quick scan of vpfree2 to see which machines Planet Hollywood has that other CET properties don't have and I theorized he was playing 98.45% JoB.  Therefore, if there was a positive play at CET properties, it would probably involve this machine.

"E.g.  I played 50000 coin-in on a 98.5% machine at Harrahs, I would expect to loose $750 but I got diamond status, which gives me..."

I am a little confused by this report, assuming "50000 coin-in" is on a dollar machine, therefore translating to $50,000 of coin-in (which, incidentally, translates to 10 hours at 1000 hands per hour on a single-line dollar machine).

Diamond status currently requires 15000 points, which can most efficiently (cost-wise) be earned with two 2500 point days, each earning 5000 bonus points (or a single 5000 point day, earning 10,000 bonus points).  Points are earned at one point per $25 coin-in...

********************************************************************************

Barry, the original poster wrote that he was playing a 98.5% machine probably 9/5 JoB not 9/6 JoB. Therefore the coin-in per point was probably $10 not $25.

I don't think anyone is getting positive EV at CET or Mlife without counting comps - food, rooms, cruises, etc. Maybe yes for a short while but it goes downhill soon.

There are Walking Dead slots at Palms on wall by slot club.  There were a group of young men blocking the whole aisle taking their  pictures by them yesterday.

Unless you are the Chairman of the Fed, that's a really, really bad assumption to make.
