The solution is simple: Insist on a detailed confirmation of the arrangements you requested. . .or, do what I do, make the reservation yourself online. You get an instant confirmation which can be saved on your smartphone or printed before you leave.

Using a host to make a reservation is just an extra, unnecessary step in booking a room.

Re: [vpFREE] Just have to vent (LV/Reno trip)

I thought a host's function is to make it easier for the gambler to gamble. So, taking care of a hotel reservation ( maybe getting a better room), getting a dinner reservation, etc is what a host should be doing. Their ability to comp stuff has been greatly reduced, to the point that discretionary comps have disappeared for a lot of players.

Re: [vpFREE] Just have to vent (LV/Reno trip)

I don't blame you for being upset. It seems everyone in every profession has gone nuts or incompetent. Last week I had TWO doctors who wanted blood work. I fasted, went to Quest Diagnostic early in a.m. to find no paperwork from either so had to call them and reschedule. I went for an MRI and had it cancelled twice, no paperwork from a different doctor, then insurance had not gone through on second try. I am just glad they got you into a room. Good luck on trip.

Harry,

I think it's the result of hosts working from home ineffectively.  I've had two similar incidents recently.  In both cases, I showed the receptionist the "taken care of," email and it was fixed.
