Gold coast Sunday buffet is exceptional for the price $13.99, less if you have a slot card. Champagne, chocolate fountain with fresh strawberries and other fruits etc to put in, omelettes, breakfast items like cereals and eggs benedict, plus excellent salmon (really good), shrimp, carved meats, and many of the usual GC buffet items such as Chinese, Italian, good deserts, and some extra cupcakes (great carrot cake cupcake).
The usual GC buffet is good, but we really love the Sunday brunch.
Just across the street at the Palms, unfortunately the new Stations have done little to improve the buffet. The salad selections are better, and the price is less, but we found the buffet poor at dinner on two occasions recently. The desert selection looks like one of the worst in town. The Mexican bar is adequate, but Chinese continues to be very tasteless, carved beef tough and often overcooked, generally food just poor. They need a new chef with good recipes, bring back crab legs and good prime rib, and a much better desert section. If I had been Stations management the first thing I would have done is expand and revamp the buffet into something at least as good as Red Rock's and make it a calling card to get people in. I would also revamp the Chinese restaurant to have dim sum and try to match Ping Pang Pong's popularity and bring in the Asian customers who flock across the street, as well as promote Asian games. After all, the Palms is right next to Chinatown and many in the Asian community live nearby.
If you are in the vicinity of Gold Coast or Palms, definitely choose the GC buffet.
