They have the same structure so wouldn't you expect an integer multiple? Trips are 3 cards of the same rank and 2 kickers, a Pair is 2 cards of the same rank and 3 kickers. I would also expect the quad to be an integer multiple since it is 4 cards of the same rank and 1 kicker.

You are correct. Trips are 88 times as likely as quads, which in turn are 1760 times as likely as a pair.

It's not at all obvious to me why this is the case. Yes I read what you wrote, but to me full houses are a special category of trips (i.e. those where the two kickers happen to be paired.) If you add the full houses to the trips, they are 94 times as common as quads.

Clearly your mathematical intuition is superior to mine.

Didn't say it was good or bad. Only added what they did.

They gave 1000 points if you complained at the club booth.

You only have to walk 10 miles from the parking garage, stand in line,
make an argument and that's all it takes to get something worth a whole

The system is down until midnight. No point accumulations, no free play, no gas cards, etc.

Good - They had plenty of signage up in the casino.

Bad - Looks like this was a planned system upgrade, but no prior notification to local players.

Re: [vpFREE] Bob Dancer's LVA - 17 JUN 2014

Great explanation, A.P.

Plus as Bob says, there are just so many opportunities to "groan."   We definitely have a love/hate relationship with Spin Poker.  It competes with Multi-Strike in that category!!!!

You are correct. It's a wrong perception. Remember on spin poker when you convert trips you will always get more than 1 quad, so you don't convert as often but convert more when you do. In spin poker you have 15 spots where you can buy your 4th part of a quad. On 2 of these you will get 2 quads, on 12 you will get 3 quads, and on 1 you will get 5 quads, for an average of 3 quads.
The only thing that changes with spin poker is the volatility.

A.P.

I am wondering if the numbers change for Spin Poker.  It seems like you don't turn trips into quads nearly as often as on straight line games, but that may just be a wrong perception.

RE: [vpFREE] Bob Dancer's LVA - 17 JUN 2014

What also changes on Spin Poker is the "heartbreak factor." Sometimes you hold a pair of aces and draw a total of nine cards. You both both other aces, but not in a way where they can work together and give you one or more quads. for people who love to groan about how close they were and how bad their luck is, Spin Poker gives you extra opportunities to do both.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand whether "midnight Aug. 23."
means midnight on the morning of August 23 or midnight on the evening
of August 23?
